Hi

I have got the above, but am confused to why I am paying £175 road tax whilst others with the same engine (PD 140) are paying roughly £140.

Any ideas?

Thanks

what year is it, also is your automatic as dsg ones tend to be in a higher tax band.

its an 06 model and yes its dsg, but also my mates 170 dsg is paying £170...

The CO2 emissions from a DSG TDI 140 2006 is 159 g/km, meanwhile the manual one is 143 g/km. This pushes its VED band from F to G, hence the higher road tax price.

It depends on the year.
Every so often the emission
Levels of these engines improve
So the tax breakers falls.
An equivalent of your engine in 2011 might even qualify for the 30£ tax band.

ive got an audi a3 2010 1.8tfsi and my roadtax has just risen to 175£.
the same model of 2007 would taxed around 195£ or 200£.

The 1.8 tfsi MY09 have always been tax band G the ones build from 2007 - 2009 are tax band H.

The 2.0 tdi 140 MY10 tax is £30 now IIRC.
