As the title says. The wheels are 19" et62 8.5j 5x130. I need a set of pcd adapters but unsure how thick and I don't know for definate the centre bore of the wheels. They are fitted with 235 35 19 tyres. Am I going to have issues with rubbing? The car is lowered 35mm all round.

Thanks!

My apologies about the poor picture quality, I have found a better one. JanteOriginaleAudiQ7 8u0025252C5JX19H2ET62

15mm spacers would be about ideal, would make the ET47. Rubbing issues I'm not sure on.

I've seen that a lot of people go for 225 or 215 tyres with 19's. I bought the wheels with tyres on and they have 6mm on so it would be nice to make use of them.

235 tyres will rub on a lowered car that far out... Especially with spacers.... you should be more concerned on whether the car will be able to achieve full lock with wheels of that et and spacers.... suggested tyre size 225/35/19...

Only way to find out for sure is to try... but I wouldn't spend anymore money on anything to do with them until you confirm they are going to work... Good luck :)

14mm spacers if you can get them would do the trick I think, the would sit flush with the arches... go for the 225 tyre though...

Also remember when you uprate to 19's your circumferance (Even with the small side wall) will jump up slightly... so you can expect a speedo error of .5mph error for every 30mph... 30 (29.5mph) 60 (59mph) its not much, but just something you should know

Thanks for the advice mate... looks like new tyres it is then, bit of a shame but oh well! I'm pretty confident they will work I've seen a set of these on an a3 before and I know there is some one on this forum some where who is running cayenne wheels. I'm pretty sure they are the same specs.

So a 14mm pcd adapter. Which will make them et48
And 225 tyres?

Or do I go 215 tyres... ? Maybe too much sretch?

You need minimum 20mm adapters if you want to use your standard audi wheels bolts if you get 15mm you need shorter bolts ( been there done that got the medal) helping you
m set up on porsche cayenned wheels 19" 9J ET60 5x130 20mm fk adaptors all round 215/35/19 continentals on front nankangs on rear no rubbing

Take them to Yogi Tyres in your home town. Guys there should be able to help you out.

Try this website willtheyfit.com... look at your wheel poke section and see how much they will add.. When I tired they wheels on my car the wheel poke increased by 25mm and that took the wheel right to to edge (and the legal limits of the arches)... IMO the 225 tyre will give you better handling on the car and theres a wee stretch ivolved in that.. they would also give you slightly better protection than the 215's on curbing etc...

Going from your dimensions they alloys straight on the car, will give an additional 7mm of poke as they are, so any spacers up to a maximum of 18mm would be ideal with your car.. As for bolts, i'm not sure, i've never used spacers before, you could always ask the seller of the spacers what they suggest

How about listen to me as ive fitted same fitment wheels to my a3 20mm adapters brought mine down to et40 they sat nice no rubbing as long as you have 215/35/19 !! Even with 5 people in the car and with loaded boot

The standard offset for an A3 is ET50... the legal limits for offset alignment is 7mm in either direction with a maximum track increase of 25mm... being ET43-ET57.. outwith these parameters and you have a smash, if you have a meticulous insurance company, then they could easily void your insurance...

Running an ET of 62 with a 20mm spacer will be illegal, not a question of they would fit or not.. i'm sure they would but i'm sure people would like to know all information on the subject before installing... But thats just me

A remap also voids your insurance unless you tell them so how about that so dont scare the guy and change his mind with insurance policy rubbish

Yes 'unless you tell them'.... then its perfectly legal.....

Listen pal, i'm not scaring anyone with insurance policy rubbish! But IMHO if I crash my car, I want to have the piece of mind that my insurance is gonna pay out without any problems... Its up to the guy himself if he wants to run them or not, nothing to do with me... this is a forum, an opinion based web site! I'm just giving him some information... its his choice!

Ok mr lawyer i get what your saying but you need to realise he started the thread because he wants the wheels on his car so give him tyre advise

Thats a fair comment without the 'Mr Lawyer' bit looool... I was just giving him some more information about the subject that he might have found useful... Each to their own I guess

I'm generally careful with my wheels so curbing is not all that much of an issue to me. Although I'm still confused about the width of adapter I require. The measurements of alloy wheels are confusing! I ideally want the wheels to sit flush with the arch without scraping. Thanks for all of the replies they are all appreciated!

What is the exact width and offset of the wheels you have on the car at the moment and i'll work it out for you? and also get a measurement of the gap you have between the arches and your tyres at the moment... this generally doesn't change because they need to be the same circumference for gearing etc, but with 19's the circumference does increase slightly

are you looking to have them flush with the arch width wise or ride height wise?

Well this is awkward haha, I have a set of steelies on at the moment :( they are et50 6.5J all round. Un sure of height at the moment I will get back to you on that, the car has s line shocks on with H&R 35mm lowering springs. I am planning on coilovers soon though. Flush with the arch width wise as height can be altered when I get coilovers.

Thats alright mate, I wouldnt worry bout that... just looking for a better idea so I can give you exact measurements...

You need to tell me though where you want them to sit.. if you want them exactly flush with the arches width wise... as for ride height, you wont achieve sitting flush with the arches with 35mm lowering srpings... would need to be lowered 55mm from standard for it to sit nice... but you'll be able to achieve this easily with adjustable coilovers...

Yeah I'm well aware of that, coilovers are next on the to do list. I mean width wise.

Ideally to get the wheels flush... on the back arch... 19mm spacers exactly is as far as you could go within legal limits, the front will stick out slightly more because the arch is not as wide.. but you could run the 20's to use your existing bolts as tdi says.. 19mm spacers you'll be reducing the ET to 43... Personally I would go with the 225/40 r19's.... wee bitta stretch to take your tyre safely under the arches... Good luck with the project and get a pic up to update us all on how you got on :)

the rim is only 8.5j so wont stick out side of rear arch unless its got atleadt a 25mm-30mm adapter fitted so 20mm will be fine and also will allow you to use your standard wheel bolts, also make sure they are hubcentric adapters go for FK ones they were wicked in mine
this is how my rear arch sat 20mm adapter one 215/35/19

With coilovers you will want to tuck the wheels so 8.5j is perfect and 20mm spacer will be fine but s3jacko knows his stuff i can tell

Thanks, I'll go with the 19mm spacer. I'm most likely gonna get custom made ones from this company G23 - Home page - Custom Machining. That way I can put the wheel straight on with out spigot rings. Although I am tempted to go with 215's just to be sure they will clear once on coilovers plus I like the look of it! I'll definately get a pic up as soon as I get them on the car! Thanks for your help mate.

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm likely to be getting custom made so I may as well stay within the law and get 19mm adapters. Although it is nice to know that a 20mm adapter will also be ok if I change my mind or some crop up at the right price!

you may need shorter bolts but might get away with it just being 1mm smaller

I've got ET43 alloys on mine and they are just too far out. It's standard height and on a spirited drive i get arch rub at the back with 225 tyres.
Thats why I'm suggesting a 15mm spacer to take them in just a wee touch and it will help.

Finally got the wheels on. Went for fk 20mm spacers as I didn't see the point paying extra for custom made ones. Fit them with nankang ns-20 215 35 R19 tyres. No rubbing issues what so ever.

Quick question: 215/35/19 vs 225/35/19 which one will fill arch gap better?
