Hello all, I did use the search function but might of used too many keywords. ill get straight to it.

There is a ticking type noise when I turn the ignition off, its coming from behind the glovebox area. it only lasts a couple of minutes.. but I didn't time it.

When pulling away hard lock left there is a noise, only way I can describe it is.. when you was younger and you pegged a playing card on the front forks to make it sound cool :)

I want to fit some gauges, not in your face just somewhere subtle to keep an eye on things. best/easiest way to do this

on the rear parcel shelf?. there's a speaker cover, long oval looking. What is it? doesn't look like there's a speaker there

Any help with any of the above is much appreciated :)

Thanks

Not sure about this one.

Cv joint likely needs replacing!

Side pillar mount pod? Do a search on eBay for them

What car model and stereo model do you have?

Any help with any of the above is much appreciated :)

Thanks

Dan

Thanks for your reply it's an A4 T Sport B6. I noticed today that the noise is on full lock both left and right so I'll have to check it. The stereo is a Symphony model no disc change.

I've found a pod and gauge kit I quite like which is on awesome GTi website. So will invest in that.

CV joint or wheel bearing. More likely CV joint.

Dear god no. Just no. If you want to do some decent monitoring, get a bluetooth OBD2 transmittor and download the torque app for your phone. Cheap and very useful in temperature monitoring, etc. Gauges are silly.

The stock sub would be there.

Help = dont get crappy pods/gauges!

Thanks

simples.

But would this only happen with the blowers on? As I don't have any of them on it's all off. I'll check it tomorrow with the blowers on as mentioned in thread you linked too :) ill report back. And I'll ring the dealers to sort out the CV joint

Its your motor. You do as you please. Only he's opinion!

Yes, that's what I want. Just with the vent spines on show. So I'll have two gauges. If I didn't have the symphony stereo I could buy the triple gauge pod that sits in the slot under the single din(?) stereo. Pita really especially as I don't want the cassette player and would prefer something I could plug my iPhone/iPod in

With the blowers on the noise isn't there, it's only when it's off. Even with car running

Cars been booked into garage I bought it from to get the knocking issue sorted when pulling away with steering hard lock left/right. When I get it back I'll look into the heater flap ticking noise
