Selling S3- Autotrader or Pistonheads?

Going to try selling the S3 before it goes in as a p/x. You guys reckon there is much benefit in putting it on the Autotrader as well as Pistonheads?

I have bought/sold my last few cars, S3, Golf GTis etc through PH as it seems to be more orientated around performance stuff.

Not sure whether the extra few quid in advertising on the trader also is worth it?
I`m going to stick it on quite cheap, ie just 1K over p/x value so hopefully the price should pull some interest.

When i sold my Focus ST170, i placed it on autotrader and ebay. and surprisingly i had double the views of it on ebay than autotrader! and Ebay was only £15 for a month of advertising! i also then sold a ford KA using the focus ebay advert as i just changed the description afterwards which you cant do on autotrader.

Just a thought into my experience.

I've only ever sold through Autotrader mate. What you looking at for it? Thinking about doing the same with my 3 door but not sure I can be bothered!

£24,995 which isn't much more than what I have been offered p/x and about 3-4K less than what a dealer will ask for it.

Fancy it like?:happy:
 
Swap for an A3? Go on, theres nothing like audi forum kindness! it will make my day! possibly year (or5)! :p
 
I put my old MK4 Golf on Autotrader and it sold in two days. Pretty happy with that!
 
PH keeps shatting itself when I get to the login page.
Rubbish.

Will try it on Autotrader.
 
Will stick the link in the classifieds section.

Priced pretty cheap as it will probably go in as p/x next week.

Haha, I'll swap ya! Need roof rails though mate. Don't think you can fit them with your roof?

Not sure if rails are compatible, probably not.

Its got those fancy paddle things on the wheel though.
 
Sold my old A3 through pistonheads mate... tend to find that most guys know their cars better on that

Tend to agree mate. Had problems with PH today though so ended up on the Trader. Had 2 enquiries so far which is encouraging I suppose.
 
I would just put it on all three sites, depends how quick you want to sell really, but I find it that after watching the car market (as mate had his car trade) autotrader gives best results on higher priced cars
 
autotrader hands down for a serious buyer!

ebay may get you a million views, but since they don't just advertise cars, someone might see your car while searching for a Samsung galaxy s3, not to mention, people use who buy through ebay tend to be more likely to wanna pay a hell of a lot less

my mate was selling a corsa, listed at 1900, didn't get an offer over 1100 on ebay, but within a week on autotrader it went for 1850

Yes no probs mate.

Had quite a bit interest Sunday and yesterday but been quiet today.
So far mainly traders though, offering trade price which is what I have already been offerred in p/x.

Good call with the M135i,you can easily achieve 15-20% discount. My M135i should be here around the 20th of this month.
Currently have my 135i Coupe on PH's and ebay,but no real interest so far..:ermm:

seriously people will moan about paying that little bit more to advertise on there, but it gets faster results from more serious car buyers

Well, that was the plan mate.

I was still a little hesitant about the rear passenger space as we use the back seats so enquired about a 3 series.

Anyhow, after much haggling I ended up with a 335d XDrive for the same kind of payment as a M135i over a slightly longer term.

BMW are doing some really aggressive deals on PCP/Finance at the minute.
The plan is to keep this one for a while.

The M135i is a cracker though, bet you are looking forward to that.

335d Xdrive is a very good call indeed,have you gone with the 8speed auto?Mate of mine has one on order in AW,Auto,Sun Protection and a few other goodies.It's due next month.

As you rightly say BMW are doing some cracking finance deals at the moment,and have really set the bar.
Yes really looking forward to the M135i arriving.Had an email from the dealer today,to say assembly has been completed and has departed the plant,so it's on the way.

I was going to go used but was offered such a good deal on new,i just had to go for it..:yes:

Exactly this.

I test drove the new S3 and I thought it was excellent.
BUT, with feck all discounts, high APR and low GFV it was £200 a month more than the 335d Xdrive on a PCP yet there was 10K difference in the 2 cars. Nuts!

The 335d is now only available as 8Sp Auto and 4wd, no rwd or manual option now. Suits me as its my preference.
Cant wait.

Had a bite on the S3 today, just dropped it to £23,995 which is very cheap. Trade is 23K so its priced to sell albeit I cant take an offer at that price. Otherwise I will just run it til the BM comes and p/x for convenience.

Its here in the classifieds mate Classifieds: 2012 IBIS S3 Sportback Black Ed, DSG, Panroof etc. which is linked to Autotrader.

Just dropped a grand of the price so its uber cheap for what it is. Its at £23,995 which is virtually trade money.

I have agreed a p/x deal against a 335d but would like to squeeze more out of it with a private sale if possible.

The car has a huge spec, Black Ed Sportback, DSG, Panoramic roof etc etc.. just me owned it since new and still has 18month warranty.

Drop me a PM or ring me on the number in the add if you want any more info. Don't want to get in trouble for the thread becoming too `for sale`
