I am with you on that one! Looks Awsome
Without the four exhausts I'm not sure id have gone for the s3, it was a big thing for me!
There's line IMO where if you're spending that sort of money on a fast car you want one or two tell tail signs that it's a tyre shredder. Nothing OTT though.

I think the subtle differences are just enough! That's the great thing about Audi, I like to call it "discrete indulgence"
4 Exhausts please Mr Wolfgang Egger, however, i fail to see how the colour of the Star design anthracite alloys fit in with the rest of the car like the aluminium window surrounds, mirror housings, headlight housing and front grill? The 5 Parallel spoke alloys i feel suit the S3 but i am a little disappointed that they are also an available option on the S-Line A3 therefore diminishing ever so slightly the exclusivity of the S3 and associated options. Many may disagree with my evaluation and others might not.
Thoughts S3 buyers/owners?
Which alloys and
Standard S3 alloys as in the pic of the red one above for me.
They aren't all anthracite and have a silver part to them too if I recall from seeing them up close and personal. I like them and I am particular about my alloys at the best of times.
I tested that very car and think that it looks spot on, so mine will look exactly like that.
Other alloys available don't work as well for me.
TBH, none of the wheel options do it for me.
If I buy one, I'll be trying to fit the current RS3 style or early RS6 style wheels on.
Disappointed they don't offer carbon fibre interior either, & wish the arches were flared out like the original S3.

I'll reserve judgement until I get a test drive & take it from there...

I'm going for the standard "18" x 7.5J â5-twin-spoke âStarââ design anthracite, partly polished alloy wheels with 225/40 R18 tyres"
I think the polished part sets off nicely against the chrome/silver from the wing mirror/window surrounds.

I have 19s with 35 section Yokohama Advans on my current DD and it's grip is unquestionable but the ride is utterly harsh and unforgiving on our pot holed roads.
40 section offers a little more compliance but mated to the comfort mode through drive select, the new s3 rides beautifully.
i like the standard alloy and have taken that as the wheel option.........as well as buying 4x Yokohama winter tyres !

My mobile is a cheap £14.99 Samsung flip phone from Tesco, i need a new one.
The colour and spec of our S3 is:
Misano red
S-Tronic
Driver assistance pack
Parade red design pack
Technology pack
Auto dimming rear view mirror
Interior light pack
Auto release parking brake
Aluminium roof rails

Electric lumbar support
Audi pre sense basic
Audi active lane and side assist
Bang and Olufsen sound system
I love the standard S3 wheel - the different angled surfaces pick up the light differently. To me it's a refreshing change from a fairly smoothed faced alloy (such as the Seattle alloys on my current Golf).
Makes me feel a lot better about not having 19s

oops, sorry, no mag ride taken either.. Current DD is a honda civic mugen m20. Quite a specialised machine but just a bit OTT for dailyduties unfortunately.
What's your non daily driver?
In what way is the Civic specialised and why the change to Audi?

Why Audi ? Comfort, refinement and it doesn't make mrs tlr sick when on a back road charge.
also, it's 4wd and has rails which is great for our cycling and skiing.......
oh, oh, and the b&o sound system is superb too

I personally really like the anthricite standard alloys above, there are now 2 S3's in both my local dealerships (Estoril & Misano) and they have the other S-Line option alloys on them, and i think they look pretty poor in comparison.
I'm hoping the anthricite will go nicely on my S3 SB in Glacier white with pan sunroof, black roof rails, and privacy glass!
I have also just sold my current S3 SB to my cousin who i know will look after it immensely, and his wife works for my company so will be parked next to the new one every day!
Can't wait to hear the B&O sound system too, roll on end of November!!

£30k plus car and a £14.99 mobile, laughable mate, so how much did you pay in the end? which dealer and did you get any discount?
My preference is for the 5-spoke parallel design that are standard on the S Line (ordered these on my S3 due to arrive in 3-4 weeks).
Not too bothered about them not being exclusive...adds to the wolf in sheep's clothing effect, particularly as I've gone for Monsoon which is pretty similar to Daytona.
Agree that some carbon on the interior would have been nice, but think this is being reserved for the RS3!

What's wrong with a £14.99 mobile?
I only need a phone that makes and receives calls. If i need to take a picture i'll use a camera and to check the internet i'll use my laptop.
Not really interested in this modern technology if i don't need it.
I can remember when there was only three channels on the TV and you had to get up off your **** to change them, Currys used to be in the high street and they sold black and white televisions and phone boxes took 2p's. :icon_thumright:

Anyway, you have one of the first S3 Sportback's in the UK so we demand pictures, so go and get your polaroid and use your fax machine to make copies, then post some by carrier pigeon to someone who has better technological capabilities so we can all get a look at your pride and joy!!!!!

i don't have the latest smart phone (galaxy S3), but I think you have a point about the phone. You can by a £600 smart phone that will be 'out of date' in 12 - 18 months. It can do most thing a laptop can, but sill can't get a signal 1/4 of the time for calls and 1/2 the time the the signal is so slow, the phones Internet / maps / email ect. Become useless. I live in East Sussex 50 miles from the centre of London, one of the more advance cities in the world and you still can't make a phone call because your in a slight dip the same as 15 - 20 years ago.
I would take a decent signal to make a 'phone call' over the Internet most of the time.Sorry, my little moan at mobiles
, but I can see why people have a cheap phone as signal can be just as good most of time and still like a bit of tech.

Ordered a glacier white S3 sportback s-tronic build week 48 I think. Spec still up in the air as I got a great deal off drive the deal and gonna use that to try up my spec.
One thing i have have noticed, know one has ordered the black grill and window surrounds pack (basically black edition) is there a reason why? Would look great on a glacier white car with the anthracite alloys and privacy glass, that's the look I've gone for anyway.

Personally i really like the chrome on the grill bars (not so keen on the titanium grey tho)
I would have liked the gloss black around the windows, rather than just deleting the chrome - i find the rubber loses it's 'blackness'

It doesn't matter which motor I'm driving, my Mrs still complains LOL!
Ordered about a week ago, someone had just canceled that morning, I snuck in and got the build slot, happy days .

My guess is down to the colour options. They probably have specific weeks for different colours.
Oh ******! I almost had my mind made up on the S3...
Now I might hold on to see what the new RS3 options are...

Oh & as a side note regarding phones... Agree'd, modern phones are crap as actual phones!
Great as a pocket PC, but I have an old Nokia as a back up, & it will pull in full signal where the iphone gets nothing!
Makes a mockery of modern tech!

You ******. I ordered mine 5 weeks ago through DTD and have received a provisional build week of 49, but I've got different paint (panther crystal)
I've also ordered the black styling pack. I have a feeling it will be one of the first on UK soil as it only became available on the weekend I placed my order.
I didn't spec the S3, it was already specked up by the dealer. I also still have a Nokia 3310 as a back up phone.
You will see the S3 at ADI so you can take your own pictures. :thumbsup:
Just received my confirmed build date and it has moved forward two weeks to week 43 and will be delivered to Aberdeen at the end of November.

Glacier white with Black edition - fantastic combination!! Worked well on the previous model and will on this one. I do quite high miles and find white very practical ( I know people will argue ), any unavoidable car park dings won't show too much and any stone chips are quite well hidden on white, unlike estoril and black which look great when clean and shinny but dull after a couple of long days driving and any chips and dings will show up terribly.
ive gone Glacier white / auto / mag ride / black roof rails / privacy glass / and the black edition upgrade / B&O etc.
when I first ordered the black edition ( or whatever they call it) was not available, I think I read on here that it had been added to the options so I called the dealer ASAP. Build week is 42 and delivery is first/second week in November.
I tried to select both super sport and electric adjustment in the configurator and it would not let me select both so I assume it's not possible.
None on the S3.
Loads (£15k and £18k) offered off an A7 BE or A8, but neither gave much in the way of excitement, so the S3 order was placed.
