Hi, been and done it now, sorry forgot completely to take any pictures.
The car I drove was a 2.0l diesel Sport, but had 18" wheels, the SD nav, HID's and a sunroof. After not driving a diesel for some two years now it reminded me of certain traits that the engine has, and one I dialled out of my previous car by having a remap, so I think this particular diesel isn't the one I want for now. The car also felt less fun to drive than my present one does, whether it was because of the heavy lump at the front or less precise steering I'm not sure. Probably it was because my present car has about 192ps to play with. Other than that I was quite impressed in the drive, although the ride was harder than my current car which also has 18" wheel but a lower profile tyre.
The brakes were the most impressive, I though mine were good but these, blimey, my forehead nearly hit the screen ;-) All in all it was a good car but the decision remains, was it good enough to justify an extra £8000 over what my present vehicle would cost new, which comes with more equipment as standard.
The answer has to be yes, sitting inside the saloon felt a like real quality. The switchgear and all of fabrics were of a higher level than any car I have driven to date and that made it worth it alone. But also, even though the dimensions are the same as my car, it felt like there was much more room inside too. Now all I have to do is wait for Audi to bring over the right engine/gearbox combination and in six months time I will be scribbling my signature on a order form...
