I bought a car with (badly) retrofitted Bi-Xenons. It keeps coming up with an error message in the dash despite doing the relevant coding. i did a lot of reading on here and it seems like i will need to wire it into the CE module in order for the flash/highbeam to work. The car already has a kufatec type adapter on but also has one of the wires cut (see below)

Question is, which wire has been cut (same on both sides) and which wires will i need to feed into the CE module? Also will the headlight switch (8P2 941 531 N) work if purchased? (i understand the Auto switch wont work).

CE part no. is: 8P0 907 279 F

I can post VCDS errors if requested.

Thanks :icon_thumright:

Can someone post the full specs for the which wire is what number, as i need to find out the wires of the sidelights! (not hijacking :p)
Would be useful for us both.

JJ.

I'll take a look tomorrow at mine. I have the adapters from kufatec. I'll take some pictures.
I'm sure though that the cut wires are from the high beam. Who ever did the retrofit did not know where those wires must be connected.

Yh that would be great thanks mate. the high beam still works, but only if the headlight is on. from what i can gather on here, indicates that it is a wiring problem. seems a shame that the wire has been cut so close to the connector.

So... the wire for high beam is connected to the pin 11. I don't know about the rest, what they do and how they should be connected.
Here are a few pictures with mine. Notice the wire for high beam, it goes from the right side headlight to the left side than together with the wire from the left headlight goes inside the car.

My car is LHD, that's why the wires go to the left. In your case they shoud be on the right side.

L.E. I see now that the pictures are not that good. I'll take some more later. Meanwhile, you just take a look and tell me exactly to which pin that wire is connected, so I can check where it goes in the other end.

Thanks for that, this is starting to make much more sense now! i just had a look at my connections, and there is no wire connecting both headlights. I am guessing that this is the wire which has been cut, and it seems to be on pin 12. all of the other wires are connected to the original connectors. so would it now be, as simple as connecting the two cut wires together, or would i still need to plug two wires into the CE module? (like This shows)

I have attached some errors/pics which may help.

Wire coming out of pin 12(?) IMAG0874

Thanks again, i appreciate it!

No no no! Its something else there.
Either the adapters are wrong or there is another problem.
The wire for high beam comes from pin 11 and goes to the circuit board under the dashboard (not sure where exactely).
The same for both sides. They do not connect to eachother. I just meant that they go together inside.
I'll pull a connector out and will note how pins connect at both ends.
I can't tell if the errors are due to bad wiring or something else.

oh ok, it just seemed like they are both connected (from your last pic). Its been coded and the errors are still here. so im guessing its the wiring. The wire from pin 11 is the yellow one in the pic, and is already attached to some other wire.I have found this adapter, seems like the correct one. I might just try retrofit the xenons again myself, as the old adapter just seems so confusing/dodgy.

Just looked over at the connectors. you were right, the wire that has been cut is from the high beam. I have the yellow repair wire (the one that joins to the CE module) in the boot, which was there ever since i bought the car. It all makes sense now. so in theory, i should just be able to connect the cut wire back to the high beam (circled), reattach the yellow wire (pin 11) back with the repair wire i have into the CE module. sounds like a mission :weight_lift2:

Here is how mine are connected:
4->1
6->6
10->10
12->8
14->3
11->somewhere under the dashboard
9->9
7->7
5->5
The rest are blanks.

I have a facelift car with retrofitted AFS lights (with kufatec adapters) and I can take a look if you're interested. Try searching the forums, I've posted the similar schematics of which halogen wire goes to which xenon pin... They are similar between pre-facelift and facelift.

fingers crossed!

Just to wrap up:
I have solved this problem, all i had to do was desolder the wires & solder it back correctly. The black wires have been connected to the other black wire & for the yellow wire (pin 11) I just soldered a repair wire into its place. this was all then fed through into the CE module & correctly coded using the guides on here. It is nice seeing the whole DIS screen again, Thanks for all the help!
