MMI Red cable & iPhone 5 iOS7

Has anyone got the iPhone 5 on iOS7 working with the red MMI cable? I bought a lightning connector of eBay and it shows as not supported on the device and on the MMI.

It does charge the iPhone just can't play music. It's not a big problem as I can just use Bluetooth.

I'm sure at this point what is at fault. I've not tested the iPhone in the MMI with the cheap lightning connector converter or did I use it on iOS 6.
 
It's prob because it is a lightning copy not an original. See if one of your friends has an official adaptor and see if that works? It needs the drivers that are in the chip built in the official adaptor.
 
Yes the cheap lightning adaptors are false economy. Only the official ones are certain to work. Pretty disgusted that Apple didn't bundle one with each iPhone.

I agree considering the actual cost of the phone off contract! I guess every company does the same though, including Audi with some of the options that you think should really be standard.
