Hello people,

I've heard back from my dealer today and my S3 has a scheduled build week of 47, but here's my question.

How likely is it that this scheduled date will end up being confirmed and therefore locked in?

Has anybody any experiences of these dates changing?

Thanks!

Hi Paul, my car is only an A3 (not s3) but I was initially told by Coventry Audi a delivery date of late Nov, I received my car 16th Sept so needless to say was pretty happy! Not sure what factors affect the delivery date, maybe I got a slot from someone who cancelled..

Hi there,

I ordered my vehicle (non-S3) second week of August and received an estimated build of Week 38 (which I believe is this week). Dealer then confirmed that this moved to 'confirmed' status. I'm hopeful I may receive the vehicle in the next 3 weeks or so.

Pleasantly surprised by this as had originally been told to expect delivery in early December.

Mine was spot on the estimated build week, and actually arrived earlier than the dealer originally told me.

Maybe if a car with the same spec is available they will give u this instead of your ordered car

Hi, i have ordered my a3 sportback sport 2.0tdi manual in the middle of june, dealer told me that i have been given the week 40 slot and that it will be delivered at the end of october. Recently the build week changed and now the estimated delivery date is mid november. Very very annoying as my car has a standard sport spec plus tech pack and light pack only.

How do you know when a car is being built or has already been built? I guess when you order it the dealer will do a search to see if they have that spec car made and ready?

I placed my order in July an got an unconfirmed build week of 46. A few weeks ago the salesman emailed me to let me know the build week has crept forward to week 45. Not a great change and still unconfirmed but at least I now know I'll have my car for crimbo.

All very interesting, although from your experiences it appears as if it's rare for the scheduled date to be the confirmed date, be that either through the confirmed date actually moving forwards or backwards depending on luck!
