ha iv seen that before makes you wonder what people do in their spare time !! you also need a car that moves under its own steam to do that

just update the situation i have got the engine out now and it looks like its been out before the prop bolts where almost rounded !! and its had a new bottom end in it a bwa so not one with beefed up internals

anyways i have the new engine built up to go in but the dmf is about shot and the friction plate is almost down to the rivets !!

i am thinking of putting a loba sachs combo in from what i have read they are better than a sachs flywheel ??

and where is the cheapest place to get hold of one fairly fast as i just want it back on the road and the cost is skyrocketing !!!

i will put some pictures up later on !

Right guys just a little update ! Got the engine in now it fires up runs fine just a small metallic tapping that I need to have a look at but I'm not bothered about that at the moment !

I do have 2 issues !!

1 is that the turbo seems to be getting very hot as you can smell heat and woundered if its not getting water through it is their a specific way to bleed the system ? And if its not that my oil return pipe seems to be restricted on its flexi joint that would restrict oil flow somewhat but never had the issue on the last block! Although its no over heating on the temp gauge I just don't want to blow the turbo !!

second one is I now have a ESP fault that's poped up I have run vcds on the car and its not sowing anything in abs modual which is where it will be I assume ? I am I right in thinking it could be due to low battery ?

Cheers guys

Your esp fault should disappear when you drive is your cooling system properly bled with a good flow ,your turbo is not water cooled if thats what your saying I would flush your engine and oil change first off .

Well im not sure ill have to check the system but its just been rebuilt the engine head gasket all bolts and gaskets on the engine new oil filter g12 plus plus 50:50 ratio , it just seem like the turbo is getting to hot ! What's the best way to bleed up the coolant system ! I just don't want to cook the turbo !

Run it with heating up full and start with the expansion tank lid removed and squeeze the hoses to move any bubbles.

Seems to be ok the turbo area at the back is still quite hot I'm not sure how hot they normaly get but dosent seem too bad !

Just need to try bleed up the clutch and figure out this ticking now !

How noises are loba single mass flywheels ? I assume they are more if a whirring that tapping

Right guys got it moving drives spot on no issues bar with the new loba stage 2 clutch kit , is it normal that they judder quite alot when setting off ? Is it just the clutch bedding in ? It does smell a fair bit !

Take it easy on the clutch at first, and do NOT try slipping it.

In or out,but not halfway in between, and you'll get used to it.

Odd smells at first are not unusual.

So basically your saying give it revs and just let clutch up fairly quick bring it to the bite then let off be quite sharp with it and don't sit on the bite !

Very hard to do it up here in the hills !

It seems to smell quite a bit ! I'm probably better off taking it on a motorway run ect to get some miles on it ?

Its not an easy technique to get used to,but it does put a lot less load on the clutch than being slipped and heating it up.

Run it in over a few hundred miles and it should sort out the nasty smells, but it's still a lot easier on the driver than a paddle clutch!

Yeah something ill have to get used to I assume you. Just rev it to like 2k and let it out

Does it get better and more like stock over time or is that how it is ?

I remember when my loba was new it juddered a bit, I don't notice it anymore so maybe it goes when it's bedded in, the clutch will never feel like oem but I swear it gets lighter as some miles go on it and it will get smoother whilst pulling away etc....either that or I've adjusted my driving to accommodate it

Cheers guys I'm going to put some miles on a run down the m6 see if she improves a little just making sure its right ! Dident want to have done something stupid when installing it

Don't think motorway miles will help much as you won't be using the clutch, the clutch needs to slip to bed in the surface, just not excessively, do some city centre driving that will be miles quicker, I did 1k of normal driving including some traffic, junctions etc, I don't think I took it on the m'way
