I've been trying to make up my mind about stage 1 or 2 for a while

I already have a hybrid stage 2 turbo fitted as my old turbo was starting to scare all the crack heads down the road thinking i was police!

Im looking to sell the car in a few months so i cant justify spending another 1k on a milltek turbo back stand stage 2 map just to see an extra 20-30bhp gain from a stag 1 map. Plus i would like to keep my clutch as it is!

I was also looking into the DTUK tuning box but they refused to send me one after i told them i have a hybrid fitted!?

Fingers crossed AMD will be able to bump it up a little more knowing its got a hybrid whilst trying to keep the EGT down so that i dont need a turbo back downpipe. Id be over the moon with 190bhp, originally i was aiming for 210bhp with the miltek +stage 2map so the rest of the internals can stay standard.

Anyone know what the original downpipe can handle on the 2.0tdi 140?

Also got some my11 lights fitted today as well... what a difference on a black car, ill be making a build thread with pictures soon :)

So if anyones down there tomorrow morning i'll be in the Black S-line!

I'm sure they'll know exactly what you can expect to get on the stock downpipe etc,and won't push it too hard.

After all,my car has been reliable all of the time, until it's recent(unconnected) electrical problem.

Hope you enjoy the results!

Longest 3 hours of my life walking round lakeside i can't wait!!

I know exactly what you mean, but it will be worth it.

If you look around, you'll see mine in bits somewhere......enjoy the ride home.

Ha ha i went to watch the hobbit at the lakeside cinema when i had my s3 2+ done. I still then then had to wait for a while after the film. Worth it in the end though :)

Ooooo it goes! 202bhp 287 lb/ft (restricted for standard clutch)

I'm happy but not amazed... The lag and low end power is cringy. After 2400 it puts a smile on my face!

Next step miltek down pipe to hopefully boost low end power and bigger brakes!

Great service by AMD, highly recommended!

Ps love my key ring and stickers ;)

Nice result.

Quite a hike over the stock rating, and if you uprate the clutch and exhaust, you should notice more performance to come.

I think that in many cases, you do lose a bit of bottom end torque or response, but the mid-upper range response is way better.

sounds nice how much they charge for that ?

Cost £400, I think it's got a bit faster since this morning aswell... BUT my mpg is RUBBISH! 60mph cruise control on the motorway and it won't go over 39mpg.... I thought it was meant to increase!?

Like everything,it depends on how you drive it.

If you use the extra torque it will go further, but if you use the performance then it won't.

Mine for instance, can do 30mpg,which for a 500bhp car isn't bad,but it can easily do less than 20.

Hmm I used to be getting 55 normal or 45 on a "speedy" drive :( now im driving like my nan to get it above 35mpg. They even capped the torqe on it.

Give it all a bit of time, but basically you can't alway have both performance and economy.

If you're unhappy with the results in terms of mpg,ask Ben what can be done about it.

Give it a bit of time, it will change that's what happens sometimes, same to me but im getting 44 mpg in town now

Its now improved a little bit, if i drive carefully i can get 35/40 at a push. I'm tempted to go back and ask them to un-restrict the torque on the map and get the downpipe fitted at the same time. I just think it could pull much more.

Before you do,remember why the torque was limited.

If you unrestrict it,budget for a new uprated clutch,as your old one may well chuck in the towel.

They restricted it so the clutch would last, but it's in really good condition an I think it could go to 310ft lb standard so I'd rather try and get the best out of it, if it dies then it's more reason to upgrade Instead of replace?

If I book it in for a down pipe as well do you think they would be kind enough to adjust the map?

My amazing mpg days are over so I really want the wow factor from the map!

ImageSee how the torqe goes up then sticks around peak, I can literally feel that stop whilst driving.

If you aren't fully happy with it, take it back and get them to adjust it according. It should be set up for you and your driving.

That's actually pretty much exactly how your torque curve(and similar on my car) should look.

A quick rise to maximum at relatively low rpm, then flat across the range as BHP rises.
