My wife had a brand new merc sl as her company car a few weeks ago and the few times I've driven it i was amazed at the amount of dirty looks I got driving it (I wasn't even posing with the roof off). Then today at work the MD turned up in a Ferrari 458 only to have the wind catch one of the windows on the 4th floor rip if from the frame and land right in the middle of his bonnet. The guy was on his knees in tears when he saw it and the people stood nosing at it were laughing at him, the guy has worked 18 hour days for 25 years to keep them idle b******s in a job.

I don't get it, really p***es me off when people are like that.... Rant over :)

Wow, that's nuts they were laughing at him; I'd sack them all on the spot.

I would be in tears if I saw a Ferrari get smashed up.

People are absolutely stupid and nasty. Hence why I'm looking to live out in the sticks away from them all ;)

Jealously plain and simple.
Its human nature to enjoy watching others fail as it makes us feel better about ourselves. So when we see success in others it deflates us and causes feeling of hate towards them.

As an example, football, one team wins and their fans are excited and happy, the other team loses and their fans feel sad and hate the others who have won.

+1 for sacking anyone laughing at that tbh. Why are they standing around oggling anyway? Surely they should be offering a hand with boarding up the broken window and ensuring nothing else falls, the car can be fixed later, thats what insurances are for.

Sidibear is right the German word Schadenfreude - deriving pleasure form the misfortune of others - is the best word to describe this.

Unfortunately comparing our status to others is innate human behaviour and it takes quite a bit of enlightenment to break the trap. Once you realise there is nothing to really compare and everyone has there problems (even if they own a Ferrari) you can be happier being yourself and with what you've got.

I always wonder how those who laugh at others misfortune feel when there turn comes, every life has some misfortune, and others do the same to them. On the upside at least the glass fell on the car which can easily be fixed and not the MD (or even the onlookers) who might not have been so lucky.

That's crazy!

Just like when a nice car breaks down the first thing people do is gather round with their phones out :tocktock:

Utter nonsense, some people have far better opportunities than others, and should be grateful for it, I know a couple of guys who were born millionaires and haven't lifted a finger all there life's, except swanning around the world with around 20 women a piece (i guess they took there opportunity)

:lmfao:ok.............

So your saying some are born 'into' money........from there parents no doubts!
Theres people who graft for a living and those that dont,if your born with wealthy parents thats not the issue,,as said we are all born the same. regardless!!!

Do'ers and dont'ers.

But we clearly don't receive the same opportunities do we? We might all be able to choose to work hard or do nothing, but you say we all have the same opportunities. That's, well basically, a complete lie!

Not just born into money,(and yes i would say parents) OPPORTUNITIES...and sometimes Right time right place...and of course luck..

I am saying some people dont have to graft or even think about it, so is that ok?

Are you smoking meth?

We`re all born the same but people are born into rich families and get what they like. A girl my mrs used to work with, her bf has a well off rich mummy and daddy and they pay for his 3k insurance on his 30k BMW M135i. Daddy pays his £130 phone bill every month. He gets 30k a year wages for doing ****** all at daddies business. His twin sisters have just passed their test and both have just got brand new Mini Cooper convertibles.

You tell me we`re all born equal and we make our own futures..

I appreciate the people that work hard then play hard and spend their money on what they like.

From my experiences you will find they will grow up to be the most arrogant people on earth...and look down on anything that moves

Before posting this link I'd like to say I WAS THE MOBILE DETAILER, but I 100% did NOT do this damage to this car.... Although I slapped the guy that did (personal friend of 20 years).

Wow, how did this turn out then if you don't mind me asking? Don't think a slap to your 'personal friend of 20 years' would pay for the damages? Come on, spill the beans, can't leave us hanging like this! lol

pretty mental eh? He was driving down a dual carriageway without central reservation, the car lost traction and skidded into oncoming traffic, hit a car head on hence the front end damage, then spun 180 and collided with a lamp post hence the rear damage. Reports suggest racing with a Lamborghini but those reports are false. The owner of the car just laughed and bought a new top of the line range ranger with the insurance payout. He actually had 3 458's, the red being his daily driver, he also has two cossies and something for the wife too. His son drives a ford focus rs tuned to the nuts, insurance is something like 5 grand. The best bit is he's a really nice genuine guy. I appreciate it all sounds a bit odd and fictitious when it comes to his reaction etc but this is a close friendship and he doesn't care too much about material items despite having lots of them.

Amazing! Sounds like an awesome guy, I want to borrow a 458! lol Cool about not caring about the material things, main thing is everyone is fine!

Unfortunatley - thats the world we live in now, people seem to take great pleasure in other peoples misfortune.

As others have said, camera-phones appear from nowhere.
When I had a fairly bad crash a few years ago on the motorway, the passenger of the first car that stopped behind me jumped out with his camera phone, walking round my crashed car! I had stumbled to the side - wonder where that video got to!

As for the employees laughing - heartless bas***ds - even if I disliked the guy I would have still showed a little compassion.
I bet they would flip out if they saw someone laughing at them if they dropped their iphone.

It's just horrible jealous people, I get it all the time.. I'm 25 now and I'v been a director of a small company I helped set up when I was 18, and I'v been having nice cars since then. But because I'm so young and look even younger (about 18 now apparently) I get a lot of grief and door dents along with all the people who snidely comment about how they wish their daddy brought them nice cars as well. It does my head in, I work very hard for what I have and have sacrificed an enjoyable life to be where I am because I'm always at work.
