Funny the coilover upgrade after all the defence of the budget coilies. Which are probably stiffer and better suited for the track than APs. APs are good for cheap quality but are still soft. Could do with upping the spring rates just a touch.

The AP's are rebranded Weitecs; I've gone for these - AP X Coilover Suspension Kit A3 8L 1.6, 1.8, 1.8T, 1.9TDi FWD 09/96> - £692.00 : The premier online mail order VAG suspension and performance specialists. We offer a wide range of all the best branded suspension and performance parts for all VAG veh

So they have rebound adjustment built in, which will be nice.

For a road car my Jamex coilovers have been fantastic, really really good. And if I didn't have any money I'd buy another set tomorrow. But they have started knocking and given their age it's as much sense to replace as repair, they are 4 years old after all. They aren't as good as my Weitecs were, and I've never said they were. Just defended them from much bad press as they deserve.

:)

Ah the AP X kit. Didn't know they did them so thought you'd gone for basic set.

I know they're rebranded. I've had both APs and Weitecs now. You can tell they're pretty much the same other than colour.

I've had a mental day all starting with a wake up call at 1am from the automated call system at work! Struggled to get back to sleep after that then my alarm goes off at 05:50. It's then been a busy day all day and my throat has been hurting all day.

Agreed.
Mondays suck major portions.
Still nearly Friday ...........

Westy, I just got over a throat infection. Started last week. It was like swallowing gravel mixed with glass.
Then it gave me a super sore tongue, like it was burnt. That sucked also.
Still nearly Friday.

You mean you had to actually do something..!!!..;)

I went out for a run tonight, I've not been running in literally years. I remembered why I prefer cycling. :)

Well i'm feeling a little down today, so need you guys to help cheers me up! I think the reality of being single and being on my own for a long time coming with 2 children is really starting to hit home and I just want a cuddle from someone nice :crying: Im sure i will perk up eventually, when I move house and start a fresh.

I did last week, went to stay with a friend for a few days but always got to come back to reality at some point.

My car needs fixing at the moment, I have a A4 1.8T cabrio. My brakes warning light is on and it's missing a glovebox as I'm going to try and repair the hinge

When I was single I use to love a change of scenery and visiting mates. Always used to feel depressed as I drove home after a weekend though.

I then found that the best way to deal with it all was to keep as busy as possible so I played a lot of PS3, did weight training, and did a lot of car work (rebuilt the engine).

Im plenty busy with having two children but I also need adult conversation. My friends say that I won't ever be lonely cos of the children but it's not the same as having someone there to share your troubles with etc. Don't get me wrong I don't miss the ex as he was controlling and jealous but I miss having someone there, if that makes sense.

Just have to make myself even more busy so I don't have time to think about it.

I hate buying parts. I just want my car to last forever without needing parts.

I love buying modified parts...

I just hate purchasing all the boring serviceable items that come up every 6k and every other random part that wants to break/perish and put a hold on buying more modified parts!

Buying parts makes me happeee, but fitting them myself makes me knackered! The joys of car modifying!

Lol....this would explain why you have so many cool parts that aren't even fitted yet...or take ages to fit them! :p

Am I correct in thinking you still have S3Dave tie arms and a haldex controller to put on your :blackrs4: ?

You don't read my threads do you? I've put the Dave bars on, performance controller is still in a tescos bag somewhere, got a star performance fmic in the cupboard. Lol
The thing is, I have no local friends into car modifying, so I just do it when I'm free and bored. Made more of an effort in the last 12 months though, so slowly getting there.

Supply with me with food, drink and a bed. I'll help you out one weekend. :)

Hi All,

Newbie here (well I know the famous man Nick Prawn Vaughan) with this mental stripped A3. My project is in the project room.

Really good site so far from what I have seen, a lot of knowledge about. :)

Well I have done nothing with my car so far, hoping to fix the glove box tonight with help from a friend. Put my application in for a house, so fingers crossed!

Sorry Joe...I do try and keep up with the majority of threads on here but since my car has been working properly the past few months I've been out in the motor clocking up miles and getting lots of smiles in the process :racer: :)

But....I am sort of correct dude; a haldex controller and a FMIC sitting there collecting dust aigh ;-)

Very cool parts indeed and both on my 'to do' list.

The haldex controller is meant to be a wicked mod and not many people have done it due to the cost of the units. There's been a few failed group buys on here over the years for them.

It's only useful to compliment other mods, as a stand alone device with standard power and suspension, it's not worth it! Of course I got mine from the 'other' S3 I owned.
