Thank you Karl. I enjoy the countdowns very much. Our aim for the forum has always to be proactive and make it good for members new and existing. Tbh, i think we are the best, but maybe im biased, lol. Yes its fun keeping up with all the deliveries that are imminent, but i have a really good memory. September is a busy countdown month with new cars and the new registrations, im hoping for some october deliveries soon as i dont appear to have any of those so far. :) x

Thanks Sandra! I'll put together a little playlist consisting of these tracks on my Spotify account ready for collection. :)

Metallica are the only one of the 'big 4' American thrash bands I've never seen live, but to be honest they aren't much good these days anyway so not too fussed.

They do still roll out the old stuff though, and to be fair, Kirk Hammett is still an exceptional guitarist!

Another old favourite! I'm off to sign the relevant documentation on Tuesday, so I'll get to see it again prior to Sunday. :D

He's no John Petrucci though, is he? :p Or Devin Townsend...

They're certainly not the same guitarist, although I can honestly say I've never really dug any of Dream Theatre's stuff. Devin Townsend's stuff is so off-the-wall it's not so many peoples' cup of tea either, but I see what you're driving at.

If I could play like any guitarist, it'd be someone more along the lines of Eric Clapton anyway - I prefer bluesy sounds to shreddy stuff - But I'm never going to be as good as either of them, so it's a bit of a moot point! :D

Good luck with the signing of the papers. Not long to go now. Glad you enjoyed your music. :) x

Thanks for the tunes Sandra!

I've had a ****** nightmare trying to buy this car.

I sold my old car privately nearly 2 weeks ago, so I've been begging and borrowing when I can to make it through, and yesterday the time came for me to pay up! So I went into the dealer, signed some stuff, and tried to pay via debit card. Queue the security alert and automated phone call from the bank asking me if I've tried to pay £loadsamoney in the last 5 minutes. I say yes, ring them up, and get told that the payment was denied.

Fine, I say! Can they do it for me? No.

Can I do a BACS transfer over online banking? No. Not that much money.

Can I do it via telephone banking? Yes if I had the details. I don't.

My only option is to go into a branch and do it personally! I wish I'd known it'd have been such a PITA to pay for it in the first place, because I'd have made sure I'd had it all in place!

So I went into a branch of my bank during my lunch hour today, and transferred the money over. Now I'm just waiting for Sunday; I feel like I've really earned this car now! :D

That sounds like you had a nightmare time of it. Its sorted out now, so i think you should just kick back and relax. Im off to get you a nice relaxing piece of music to help you out. :) x

glad you got it sorted. This post has rung alarm bells for me. I'm paying the balance on my car tonight and thinking I'm going to have the same issues you went through! Aggggggghhhhh!

The dealership gave me their bank details to transfer the cash across, and I nipped into the bank with a passport and driving licence to make sure they could authenticate me properly.

The dealership worried me by telling me it could take 3 working days for the cash to go through, and given that I pick the car up on Sunday, if it had taken the full allotted time, I'd have missed it and had to collect it on Monday.

Thankfully, it went straight through like any other BACS transaction I've done, and they received the cash almost immediately.

Thanks for the info, think I will have to sort it out now.

I've still got to pay £1500 on the day. I've got a contingency of a couple of credit cards though. I'm sure it won't be a problem.

Years ago I bought a motorbike (£2500) on a debit card - went straight through. Then went round a few shops buying protective gear. The last purchase of the day (which was for £30) was declined due to suspicious activity!

Yeah, that level of cash will be absolutely fine. Be aware that (in my dealership's case), you're only allowed to spend £1000 on the balance of the car, so I did it with the deposit at the beginning of the transaction. My debit card was over 20 grand more than yours will be, so I'm sure you'll be fine!!!

My balance is similar to yours. Just popped into the bank and they say there is no limit on the transfer; that was my concern. Phew! No worries now:thumbsup:
