Hello all,

Do you think this would have to be an exhaust specialist or would any garage do this job?

Sounds like an owl lol heard it on another car that was done.
Any exhaust place can make this, let us know the cost.

Any decent exhaust builder can do it.

On a diesel it may be bearable, but we tried this on my car and it was simply antisocial, and difficult to live with.

haha it does but it sounds ait meaner. ill let you know the cost if i get a quote somewhere :) Thanks Alex, i can only try it and see how it sounds, i dont think the mod itself will end up costing too much! but yeah perhaps on a diesel it will be okay.

Does the air filter make much difference on a car like mine, sound wise?

Airfiletr wont make a difference, but an intake yes you will get the whooshing noise.

Sorry thats what i meant i think. So for example; putting in a K&N panel filter or even something along the lines of a cone would make the difference?

putting a panel filter wont make a difference only if you change the whole air intake like i have done with carbon intake or ITG, Revo intake etc

That's smart. With that is there no filter, Just a pipe? And how much was that part mate

With a cone filter you cant have air intake without filters otherwise all the dirty from outside will go inside the engine. £190 I paid.

Yea I thought that but couldn't see the cone! Hmm bit steep for me, may have to leave that for now!

If you do the backbox delete let us know because i really like that mod

Ill repost in this thread if it happens, will be a few weeks yet :)

Had mine done on my 2.0tdi, cost £130 at a custom exhaust place. Gives it a nice grunt but nothing loud. Also the turbo can be head spooling quite a lot more.

Sort of thing I'm after. If I decatted it Aswel but it be louder?

You got 140 or 170?

If you have 140 yours will make the owl noise, if you have 170 as far as im aware it wont.

They both have different turbos, the 140 Turbo you can hear the vanes and it gives that noise, where as on the 170 it wont.

Still need this pipe if anyone has one? Only one exhaust specialist that I know of by me and they were quoting over £200!

I looking to do this mod aswell, no-one local to me will do it.
So if you can get this done, maybe a group buy ???

Found this in an old thread, might be of some help.
