Car is running ok. The occasional boost hose pops off now and then but all good. Not going with meth yet. Few things to sort out like like space in the boot. When the brakes being fitted?!

Sounds good! Cheap clamps or just not done up?

Brakes are being fitted once Prawn gets a second. I might do them myself on Thursday if I can be added, also need to change the engine mounts and refit the exhaust.

Just got to wait for the Project top mounts which should be a few weeks. Then the AP's can go on.

Nice. 312s just aren't enough anymore??

My current IC pipe setup needs tweaking. It sits a bit high which catches on the bonnet. This then causes it to sit at an angle on the turbo. Now and again it pops off. Not a major issue just have to keep a closer eye on it

Fairy ****. I hate the look of my IC, almost certainly going to do something drastic to bin it off. Maybe a meth install and silicone piping to tuck it all in closer like a Mk5/8p setup.

I also hate that mine rubs in the bottom of the bonnet.

312's are good, but Lou fitted these 312's and standard pads over 30k ago I think and they are well and truly at the end of their life. My motto has always been upgrade when things need replacing, and whilst I haven't really stuck to it I am using it to justify these.

Well that's me just home after the shift from Hell.
Supervisor phoned in sick so I got all the sh!t dumped on me instead, without the pay raise. :sob:
If it could break, it broke, if it could stick, it stuck. And if the machine breaks down, we break down.
Right that's my early morning venting out the way. Cheers Dudes.
Nearly Friday.

Off topic and excuse the ignorance but what is a Hybrid Turbo, seen it mentioned on site before.

Here's my understanding.
Externally its the same as a normal turbo that their cars run, so it bolts up but the internals are from something better to produce more boost which will produce more BHP.

Its the Labradoodle of the turbo world.

I guess.

I'd rather get somewhere with fuel in the tank and cheerful grin on my face and money in my wallet over balls out, empty tank, empty wallet and combination of sheer of entertainment smile fueled by adrenaline and fear.

I miss speed :(

Morning all.

What is your average fuel economy then Scott?

45mpg most of the time but it goes up when I sit on a motorway all day.

I'm not getting in to this MPG debate with you and your 50mpg and 200 what ever it is BHP.

I like my diesel and tuning petrols is additive and I'm not going down that route.
I'd rather be addicted to crack again. At least I don't have to worry about boost hoses or bent rods.

But you would need to be cautious of becoming a crack whore.

Petrol FTW! Diesel's are for gays. :)

Well back at work today after a stressful week off. I've come back to work for the rest I think. How is everyone after the lovely bank holiday?

Morning all, S3 is tax'd for another 12 months, and I'm £225 lighter.

Look on the bright side.....it's still £55 less than the S3 owners with cars built after 1st March 2001 have to pay :arco:

Twas great thanks.

Yeah it's definitely feeling like a Monday in the office today.....lots of people still hanging from the BH weekend and taking it very easy.

How was your BH?

Not looking forward to paying for car tax at the end of next month... :(

I'm renaming today Muesday as its really just a Monday in disguise as a Tuesday. Another 2 hours (unpaid) overtime tonight. Wonderful.

Is it Friday yet?!?

I've just finished watching this weeks episode of MythBusters and they were talking about Hypermiling.
Supposedly it can double your fuel efficiency.
It mainly involved driving at 45mph on the motorway and rolling to stops in the city, switching the car off at the lights.
Although they didnt double the mpg they did manage to increase it by up to 70%

Don't know if I could bring myself to drive at 45 on the motorway though.
Don't know why the Yanks would want to increase their mpg considering their fuels dirt cheap anyway.
Still, you can't beat a bit of Kari Byron in the morning.
She can play with my Bunsen anyday.

Whoooooooooo

It's payday :)
Now the hardest decision I have to make every month....what mod to buy and whether to go to Prept this evening

Prept is today? Completely forgot...

Yeah dude- should be different than usual as they are teaming up with another club organiser this evening....so it won't just be the usual VAG/German cars at Brands.

You going along bud? I've never actually been before! lol

Haha my mod is road tax this month. MOT went through no problems.

Been a few times, might go Prept but my car is filthy..

Don't even know what that is. lol

I've already been paid and this month mod is car insurance. lol

It's a monthly car meet @ Brands Hatch that is usually only for German/VAG cars.

Absolutely dripping with 'scene' cars on 3sdms, air bags and candy coloured cars and attracts a large amount of VAG owners around the SE.

I have unwritten rule where I have to mod/change/service something on my motor every month.....it's an expensive addiction but I look at it as my hobby! lol

Much VAdGe on display?

There usually is at the meets down here...

Majority of girls down here seems to think they can promo! lol

I don't get to choose a monthly mod. A monthly repair chooses me! Running out of new bits to fit....

For the first 3 years of ownership that's pretty much how I was spending my cash each month.....repairing/replacing and fixing stuff.

Only in the past 1-2 years I've actually been able to properly mod the car without the fear of everything else around that mod falling to pieces/blowing up :ermm:

K04 TFSI conversion could be some new bits to fit ;-) lol
