Engine misfire

Hi guys I got a 2004 2.0 fsi a3 and been having recent engine issues like my engine management light coming on, one of the parents friends has a snapon ethos machine and we read the fault codes and it is bringing up misfires on 2 and 4 cylinder does any one have a clue what could cause this ? Thank as I don't want to throw money at pointless things

I would try your coil packs mate, that was the problem with mine when I had a misfire. the engine management light also started flashing when under strain too.

As above mark and swap your packs around to see if the fault moves with the packs also your packs may be subject to a recall so its worth checking with audi before spending £

Cheers guys will swap them round tomorrow and get it looked at on the machine then change if they are at fault.

As above, you'll probably notice the engine ''shaking'' on idle as well do you?

I also have a 2004 2.0 FSI and my coil packs had the recall out standing - cylinder 2 and 4 failed on me also so speak to audi and they'll check to see if the recall had been carried out, mine was repaired free of charge.

Yep I get that on idle too, will go audi on Tuesday and have a word thanks for the help
