I've just won some Team Dynamics Pro race 1.2 on eBay, they're 18x8J E45.

My standard S3 speediness are 18x7j ET52 and run 225/40/18 tyres.

I was wondered what to go for on the new wheels? I need new tyres anyway so can freely change size.

I can only think I could run a 235/35/18 or 225/40/18? Just unsure what to go for.

The S3 speedlines should be 7.5J?? I would stick to 225 40 18 and go for something like the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyre - they are a bargain atm in that size.

We run 1.2's & 225/40/18 Sessanta's, very nice tyre indeed, initial new usage they follow every single road curve etc so can be a little OTT, but a thousand miles in & they're the best tyre I've had to date.

235s would be the absolute ragged edge of what you'll get under the car without some serious work.

Mine has 245x18s on the same rims you're considering.

Now that took new topmounts and a lot of other parts to fit.

Tyres are now Michelin Supersports, and that is a superb tyre.

For reference I'm running 225's on my 8J winter wheels - not particularly stretched at all.

I meant to put 7.5j for the speedlines.

Alex would a 235 not have overstretched on a 8j rim?

I think in retrospect mine are 18x9 but even so 235s are about as wide as you can easily go.

I have 225/40/R18 on a 8.5J rim - slight stretch but nothing worrying. You'll be fine with 225s on an 8.0J rim

Ok guys cheers. Ill run a 225/40 again.

We have a family tyre garage so prices are irrelevant, I've for Michellin pilot sports at the minute but they're what the car came with so am gonna swap to see if they're better/worse than others. I like to try all makes.

Pretty certain I'm gonna try some Yoko Parada Spec 2. I know they seem to be a love/hate tyre but I fancy a more aggressive tyre without paying out for the likes of a track day tyre such as AD08

Give the Pilot Super Sports a whirl at some point - IMO they're a real step up from Pilot Sports.

I'd really recommend the Supersports.

They're nearly as grippy as a full on trackday tyre like the R888s but without needing to worry about wet weather.

The wheels are here and on!

them wrapped in the new design Bridgestone Potenza RE-11. I spied these bad boys on our shelves at the garage and had to have them. Such an aggressive tread and only paying trade they were worth the punt! Just been reading into them and the Porsche boys are putting them on pay with R888 for grip but grip from cold, they beat R888 for wet handling and apparantly last forever. I imagine theyre on pay with super sports!

heres a quick snap of the tread

Have fun...hope you enjoy them!

i love em already! Now to upgrade all discs, pads, lines and fluid then go book myself in at Donnington!

I know the feeling.

When I had the suspension and wheels/tyres done on mine,I couldn't wait to get it back on the road.

Much like now in fact!

Im meant to be spending money on upgrading the clutch, then fuel pump and get it mapped. The only reason I bought these wheels is they were going for £500 new on eBay and with a retail of £650+ I know I could get my money back second hand if I didn't like them.

im guessing your car never got cleaned then as still waiting for a picture :p

JJ.
