Evening guys

Quick question......im going to be fabricating my own plenum using a AEB manifold as a donor. Reasons because I have an AGU head to go on. Are the injector ports the same as a BAM or will they need modifying?

Cheers, Chris

The injectors need modding depending on what ones you are using as the injector bungs on the AEB are smaller and BAM injectors have a shoulder to stop them being pushed too far in on small port inlets... this shoulder needs to be carefully filed to allow the injector to sit in the bung...

You may also need to space the fuel rail depending on what injectors you use too...

Mine with 630cc dekas..

...and now with 550cc Bosch...

@ Tuffty.
I will be using bosch 550 on my build also. Using a standard bam inlet mani. Will I also need spacers for these and if so where do I get them.
Thanks.

Bill runs this setup on the Lupo... pretty sure we didn't use spacers on that... I'll try and remember to ask Bill in the week unless he sees this first...

Can anyone tell what the sensor is on the bam inlet by the dip stick please?

EGT probe if you mean the one underneath or air temp sensor if you mean the one by the throttle body

Not the sensor by throttle body. Take it the position of the probe hasn't got be exact?

Where did you get the radius stacks>? they look lovely

Had the turner at work make them from a sketch i made and then got one of the millers to machine the slot in to match up with the manifold ports

make more and sell them, they look awesome!!!!

Just making this for myself at the moment, will take notes of dimensions etc for future reference if needed. plenum wise will be fabricating it all from scratch, want it slightly bigger than std and look oem. Going to be running a k04 for a while yet and not sure how a larger plenum will effect everything

dont fancy trying one of these plenums?

How much are they? planned on doing it all myself to keep cost down to nothing, as i was given the donor manifold and using off cuts from work. How would a plenum that size effect a k04?

I KNEW id see dani in here as i scrolled down! Lol. You'd be interested in aids if it came in something shiny!

Nice work, welding looks very professional! I dunno what i prefer more, your precision, or scullies colouring in! Lol

Those machined babies are way nicer but I'm sure they must be pricey as it would take some time to machine them.

My colouring in numbers are more for the DIY enthusiast.

TBH having a semi CNC lathe and mill makes it easy work.

more over the largeport runners will loose you low end torque but add some up top >5krpm, BUT on std k04 thats not where its at its best flow wise as its petering off up there

Its low £200ish after tax and shipping approx.
+ throttle body adaptor plate required

OUCH! for a bit of cast ali......i'll stick with the original plan, can always mod it at a later date to fit a larger plenum like that

lol

predictable response

excessive manufacturing.. USA + shipping + duty +vat it all adds up by the time they land here

Have had casts made in the past to make formula ford uprights that you can't get hold of anymore so might look into this

managed to get a bit done this week.....

Looks good - would probably have been better if you could have tapered it more to the furthest cylinder from the throttle body but I'm sure it'll be an improvement.

There's a company selling billet injector cups on vw vortex which would complete this nicely :)
