Black styling pack

Evening all,

I'm wondering whether to opt for the black styling pack on the S3 but I can't find ANY pictures online of the black styling pack on the 8V and the Audi configurators offer poor visualisation of the finished product as they only change the window frame colours.

Has anybody seen any black styling pack pics online anywhere?

clearly, the ali grill suits that colour IMO, up to you though. Decisions, decisions.
 
Dylock seems to be more than happy with the ali trim over the black styling pack.

I've tried to do a couple of vids for the noise but they don't come out very well. Tomorrow ill be going through a tunnel so that should help ;)

Loving the car so far, no options that I wish I had gone for.

In regards to the black trim option, when it came out I thought I was going to be annoyed I didn't have it but seeing it in the flesh I love the aluminium look so very happy I've not got it.

I think your choice of having the aluminium over the black trim was a very wise decision, i too had this dilemma but chose to go with the ali, a) it helps define the look of the car dramatically b) i have never had the aluminium grill and with the chrome surrounds my mind was made up. Also the intakes where the fogs used to be are made visually more prominent with the ali in those areas imo. Nice car! Roll on December for my sportback! tick ****** tock, however, with new deliveries being made on here i have enough material to keep me salivating! my guess is you've nearly run her in after your first day!

Yes unquestionably the Ali trim looks better with estoril but if I got the black styling pack I'd go for a different paint colour... Possibly the phantom black?

The choice is entirely up to you. As mentioned previously, my first S3 8P (57) was phantom black and if i had to chose between phantom black and panther black then it would have to be panther as it is an exclusive colour for the S3 only as is Estoril blue, but i prefer the blue as it gives the car some colour and is dark and deep enough to achieve some fantastic reflections with the correct polishes and waxes. Lastly there are too many black Audi's on the road, you must want a special colour, again entirely up to you.

Yeah that's a good point... Whenever I think about it I always come back to estoril blue without the black styling pack. I think the lunar silver seats will look better with estoril blue exterior too. Plus I'd save £400! By the same token I like the stealthy look that an all black car gives. Ahhh decisions! I'm going to head to my local audi garage this weekend and ask to look at some paint swatches. Hopefully all will become clear then!

I've very quickly mocked up a few pictures in photoshop of what the black styling pack might look like on some of the pictures posted on this forum. If you want to see what your car looks like with the bsp lemme know and when i get some time I'll try do yours. I hope you find them useful!

looks great, black cars need black styling pack for me is a must, much better then chrome, black good with glacier white as well although chrome is good too. but having had black last two cars wanted change and went for misano red, and i prefer chrome with all the reds / greys / silvers / blues.
just my opinion but I think black styling pack is overpriced for money on anything but black paint which makes it worth the extra.

Ha ha, there's some great ones on there, just better to search through colour options.

Just need to find those black rotor product codes now.
 
Yeah they do look nice!

I noticed in a lot of pictures that the german S3's have red brake calipers... really sets the car off a treat!

Found it, ok, on Audi.de configurator...

Bremssättel in Rot (brakes in red) is a 300 euro option, and reads ...

painted red, with S3 logo front; support the dynamic character of the vehicle a sportier look of the brake system


Nothing more lol.
 
so are you any closer in deciding what colour to go for Paul?
 
Been browsing the German site posted above (very handy link) and must say Phantom Black looks superb, and for me at least is the colour that sets the chrome and titanium off best.

A few cars also have the pano roof which I've also been considering but there are photos showing it from inside the car, and I must say I'm not particularly impressed! The opening looks no more than a standard sunroof, and not particularly "panoramic"! As a result it doesn't look good value at a grand.
 
I was thinking that too about the phantomn black, but I've also seen a few pictures of the panther black and I think that would actually be a better choice. After seeing them too I think the chrome looks better than the black styling pack. It helps to define the cars shape somewhat.

I was thinking about the pano roof as it lightens up the whole interior, but in the end I went for lunar silver seats, in the hope of achieving the same kind of effect but for £1000 less!
