Well not today but less than 24 hours ago lol

i fitted some led front side lights to go with my oem xenons, and i also got a tip off a B6 owner off here who was doing some building work at my works about wrapping my grill !!

heres my attemp not perfect but going to re-do it and get it as perfect as i can.

fitted

now what i used was some 2" pcv black insulation tape in four strips (top, bottom & sides) it looks ok from a distance but as said previously am going to re-do it till its almost perfect !!

Just smoke tinted my headlights and side repeaters and fitted black rings rear badge the quattro one is being removed and having something in its place and will be doing the rears in a slightly darker gun smoke,

bought a new hard drive at the w/end to go into my PC as it has been giving me errors..
was going to clone the old drive onto the new one to save re installing everything.
decided to do it last night and when I turns the pc on it wont boot!!
the old drives decided to pack up so I spent last night and some of this morning re installing windows and all my software

look for a boost leak, it's possiblt drawing too much air due to it leaking.

Cheers for that link the maf isnt that old to be fair iirc i got it off byzan last year i think, what tempted me was i was on the motorway and was on full throttle in 5th and all of a sudden it just felt as though the power/boost shut off so i lifted of the throttle then back on and it never did it again ?? Might try clearing it see what happens hope its not the maf !!

Car doesnt seem down on power it feels better than usual if anything ??

would a boost spike cause this as this is what it felt like but obviously couldnt match the fuelling will have to get the boost leak tester out !!!

you see higher boost in warm weather due to less dense air, i would think then that she saw a larger than expected boost spike on high load @ wot in 30 degree temps. Clear and ignore,lol

Today(well Monday) I found out that my 1.8t qts is only as quick as a mk4 golf tdi 130 Something must be wrong!!

Hey them golf mk4 tdi 130's are quick little things my mate had a tuning box on his and mine was just as quick if not the same cant remember if thats with my knackered turbo or after i put the FT in though you got a boost gauge in yours ??

today i did a gearbox transfusion lol !!!!

I started my facelift conversion.. heres some progress


still to fit the s4 side skirts and the rear rub strip needs a paint. but the full car will be getting a blow over in the same shade as the new doors at some point


looking for a pair of wings and a bonnet next..

went to swap my wheels over from BBS 17" to OEM B7 RS4 18"s
bolts are different and I dont have enough radius bolts for my wheels
****** collar on the rear Eibach coilovers is fecked from some monkey mashing it.

so two hours later same wheels back on and front coils back to same level!!]

need some OEM wheel bolts if anyone has some for sale!!

It had the navigation system with the symphony head unit but I didnt want that, also had the full Bose system but someone beat me to it and one of the speaker covers was broken

i only went to try find an armrest which only one had but was a green colour with cloth lid so no use to me

thought you can do the pump without taking the front end off or is it just more off a struggle with it off ???

Changed the gearbox oil, I know they say sealed for life, but after 13 years the change of oil has made my gearbox run a hell of a lot smother, with the major change being first & second the notchiness has gone.

Fixed my erratic fuel gauge
Wire had about two strands holding it on so when tank got low it stretched and wouldn't give a reading
New wire soldered across an it works perfectly

How do you get to the tank?
Mine seems a bit off every now and then. Keep meaning to check this.

There's a small round plate in the boot, remove that and it gives you access to the top of the fuel tank which you can open up
The sender just clips out as one unit once unplugged
Very easy to get to but run car as low on fuel as possible before you have a look
