Hi guys

I have a mate who is looking at a 54 plate 3.2 v6 3dr in red (DSG). Is there anything he should look out for?

Cheers
Simon

Joking aside, its a thirsty car but generally reliable.

Full service history and any other service items as above inc Haldex.

Otherwise they're good but he will be a regular at the pumps.

And make sure he's happy with the standard power. Because if he comes on here in 3 months time asking how to get significant gains out of that engine, for reasonable money (i.e. not a £5k turbo conversion), he'll be sorely disappointed.

its as only thirsty as your right foot :) to be fair mine is pretty good on fuel. unless I am bored ha

lol exactly i fill mines up full tank costs me around £65 always filled up with shell v power and i get around 330 miles and for what it is when driving normal its quiet good!

True, but driven the same way,by the same driver,it's never going to be as economical as the S3,or at least that was my experience of owning both.

On the plus side of course, the engine does sound lovely, and it's very smooth.

Mines a 3.2 Quattro DSG - don't regret one bit! Gives me around 280-300 miles/tank with AC off.

I have a Neuspeed Air filter which allows it to growl when putting your foot down.
