Hi guys , is there anyone on here that can help ? A tuner or some one that can check my ecu file ? I have the ecu file on my pc so if any one on here has the skills and knowledge I would be grateful,
thanks in advance

What exactly is the issue before handing files out.

What a load of rubbish! I bet stupid UK company do this to your engine?

Fuelling (neccessary) KFLBTS - fuel for component protection untouched! KFFDLBTS also not touch (but I leave standard with tuning these - I am student for this Bosch MED9.1 3 x years study it take over my life!!!)

Fuel from throttle LAMFA wtf why bother touching at all he make stupid change. My landlady 51 years old can do better.

He request 212 max 'load' from KFMIRL (charge request) but will NEVER see over 180 load because he is stupid and do not understand these ecu ;)

In LDRXN (actual 'charge/load' limiter) he requests 194 'load' maximum so obviously has no understanding of what he has changed. Remember you will NOT see over 180 load (please log vehicle and confirm my opinion, if it even makes that request).

Ignition Timing KFZW - what the Jesus Mary and Joseph! Oh my god does he want your exhaust to set on fire lol :p he want to make power so REDUCE ignition timing so much because he do not understand this car! I can make beautiful example without even touching KFZW for 'basic' power increase what an amateur!

He miss Rail Pressure - 110bar standard - but maybe his ECM Titanium/Race 2000 software cannot find these? KFPED do not need to be touched I only flick 85% to same as 100% because stupid DBW - so anything from 85% to 100% will read as 100% throttle when I tune these, doesn't need to be done though.

He is missing correct changes to KFMIRL, KFMIOP, KFMIOPS to make correct charge. I suggest he read Bosch MED9.1 document or PAY PROFESSIONAL to explain fuel control to him - please log this car and let everybody see what fuel is happening here. For safety.

Boost control I cannot knock or form opinion until logging the car with VCDS.

He miss all TQ Limitation maps which I do not like (similar to Ford Focus ST Bosch ME9 ecu but no problem over 50% really).

I would love to see this on Rolling Road

So at redline in a TUNE SOFTWARE he request around 13.2 AFR from throttle which is fine (sort of) because KFLBTS will kick in (component protection) but give around 11.0 AFR in reality - too 'rich' for this engine I do not run this at redline with tuned engine.

He should fix KFLBTS and set better fuel at redline. This is just my opinion.

Also. This file is ''locked'' which programming tool do you read with?

hi Jackie,

I see you know what your talking about here , thanks for looking at my ecu file , I want to get my car remapped , my mate told me it was quick and said it must already be done so this is why I was asking , the file was read with a fgtech tool or somat? can this be fixed? I was gonna take it to a rolling road when I get time to see if it can be tuned properly

Brodster - because it helps the rest of us too?

It's the idea of a forum, no?

Veeeight you are 100% correct I run 12.0-12.2 AFR at redline.

But I am not allowed to speak because 'file pushers' hate me. Bye

I hardly see it as irrelevant.. Anyone can set up a tuning company with no knowledge of an engine. So when your engine goes pop who do you fall back on? Manufacturer? Tuning company?

Too many people out there ruining cars in an unregulated industry. I'd rather know if someone has made a mess of a map pack.. ?

The 'industry' doesn't care about your engine.

They only care about selling FILES for MAXIMUM PROFIT!!!

Its all a farce.

You will find honesty from a tuning company fixing this for FREE!!!! Show good example!!! But they wont!! Because all they want is YOUR MONEY!!!

Why do all tuning companies want to pull the wool over your eyes and not explain anything? I hate this stupid country - majority of ignorant men who copy a bit of this, bit of that, bit of £6.99 cd and call it good 2.0 TFSI tuning.

Makes you wonder who makes these files in the first place...

Thanks jackie is I will contact rick and see what he suggest , I do want my car remapping and to know all is set up properly.
thanks for taking time to write what you did , the bit about the 51 year old land lady made me laugh :)

Jackie, can you PM me some background on yourself, just curious what you do in whichever country it maybe, nothing bad :)

i didn't want to go paying for another remap mate if it was already done :)

Ok now we understand, but please in future explain the whole situation instead of just asking for someone to read a file, it helps with input from various sources :)

I am in England and I am a student.

I study with friends in Sweden/Greece/Italy/Ukraine/Russia, and pay attention, and love, original software set by manufacturer in a few engines. A 'hobbyist'. Now going cinema with boyfriend ciao

Studying mechanical engineering, so where are you from originally or is the "ciao" a dead giveaway?

Jackie Brown's post made me laugh. I couldnt help reading it in the voice of the chinese chap in the film The Hangover (Ken Jeong?).

Yes I did delete a post as all I was stating before several folk got the wrong end of the stick was that it would of been more appropriate if this had been done through a PM as it was looking like a slagging match between Jackie and the original tuner so I decided to delete my post so if anyone wants to have a valid pop at me for doing so then crack on. As for the comment about file pushers........then please incorporate Revo, MTM, Bluefin, Quantum, APR and most top VAG tuning companies into the equation. Jackie you have never met me, know my work ethics and have never had the pleasure of dealing with me so your comments are ill informed.

And if I didnt know what I was talking about I certainly wouldn't of set up my own company, become an ASN sponsor and other VAG forum sponsor and have the reputation I have for looking after peoples cars would I !!!

OMG why so touchy?

Please lower your tone, it isn't appropriate here. I did not single you out - if that is your interpretation then have a cup of tea then re-read my comment.

Which of these professionals will be a kind gentleman and fix this tuning? A simple demonstration of goodwill...

I'm not fixing it. I'm not a sponsor. I've done enough good deeds to make up for whatever it is Satan cursed me with (gayness or whatever).

I don't have time for this. Thank you for your words Brodster. I will inform my comments next time or something.

Jackie maybe you should go back and re read what you typed.

Referencing a "stupid uk company" isn't exactly a wise choice of words now is it, then you wonder why people are "touchy"

Original Topic person please upload your file here.

Let the professionals give opinion. I am busy now

'unsubscribes topic'

I am a bit confused about this thread, if this was a dodgy mechanic or a dealership that had made an error people would be screaming from the roof tops to out him.. We dont even know who orginally tuned the car so I dont understand why the forum sponsors are so touchy about it?

Because the tuning world is a horrifically unregulated closed shop, cash cow at the moment.
Everyone closes ranks and doesn't want to talk about it.

Yes, there are bad tuners out there, there are people who sell files for £50 on eBay, and in general, these people give good tuners a really bad name. So yes, there are good guys out there too.

But at the moment, even the big names in the UK aren't interested in cleaning up their own trade. Very very few of the "names" will offer to look at your current file, and offer and opinion or diagnostic on it. All they will say is that they will sell you one of their own maps. Custom or not. They aren't interested in fixing the problem. But some guys will, including some on this forum.

it used to be like this in the early days of OBD2 diagnostics. Until generic and specific tools came along (eg: VCDS) you were at the mercy of those with expensive pro equipment.

Now in this forum, we share VCDS logs, and we help each other with our scans.

i can only hope that in time the knowledge will be shared, so that we can share and discuss map files to see what's what, and to distinguish rubbish and dangerous maps, from good maps.

But it won't be happening overnight!

long gone are the days of swapping jets in a carb, adjusting the timing ( with a spanner not a computer ) and changing the cam timing to get more power...

those are the days I miss you could get a ported and polished head with bigger valves change a carb and change the jets and set it up without having to plug anything in. and get good power gains.

now its all maps and ecu files.. and yes I do agree any monkey with the right software can build a map and sell it on the internet for a fast buck. and some of them don't have a clue. but then these are the ones selling them on the net. as they can disappear very easily.

then there's boys that do it for a living and are good at it but are more expensive than your chap on eBay..
so you get the cheap skate thinking yea Ill buy the one off eBay its more than half the price!! theres a reason why its that cheap!!
get it done right by a known tuner and you'll only need to get it done once ( unless you add more mods and want more power)
get it done cheap you'll melt a piston or valves youll need to rebuild your engine or buy a replacement then youll need it remapped properly again..

give me an old pinto, xflow or M10 engine and I can get you more power ask me to tune a newer car Ill send you elsewhere..

Hi brodster , dean , can I send you both my ecu file ? So you can both take a look and see what Jamie is talking about , you may actually agree with him ? I don't think he was actually meaning to call uk tuners , the file may of come from a disk , no one will ever know because the car was like this when I got it , I don't want fellow members arguing over such a small matter :)

so your asking a forum sponser to map a car for free ?

I don't want it fixing for free , I wanted advice on the map to see if it had been done and the opinion off you tuners if the map is decent , can we leave this now , I will just take the car to Audi and have my software updated and the map wrote over with original values and back to standard , thanks all for your help.
