Hi everyone,

After 7 years being a Renault Sport fan boy I purchased my red 2007 8P S3 last night. I've been reading quite a lot of helpful information the past couple of nights and look forward to learning much more. I'm currently selling my current Renault Sport 200 Gordini which has served me very well for nearly 3 years but I really had an urge for a turbo and a bit more power. Don't get me wrong, the 200 could quick when keeping the revs above 6k while the car was on the edge of grip but the S3 is just quick so easily and that was what I was looking for in my next car.

I have already made some plans; MY09 rear lights, change cam follower, new style DV, plasti dip the front grille, LED number plate lights, CAI, R-Tec remap, new tryes and the most important thing.. A full detail.

I will be wandering though the forums trying to find out more but can anyone give some recommendations for a CAI and which disk/pads combo will work well for stopping power?

Anyway here is my car up until last night and my newly acquired S3:

I'm loving red S3s at the moment - looks ace.

I've a big fan of darker trimmings, so I'd do smoked repeaters, black\body colour mirrors, black 'chin' and darker wheels to go with your plastidipped grill plan.

I used to run the ITG Maxogen on my S3 which at the time seemed to be the best, although I think nowadays people are loving the Revo offering?

Welcome.

The Revo and AMD are the best of the current intakes and the ITG is still a very good one.

As to brakes give DaveB1970 or N8 a line for the best prices.
Brakes for the S3 are not cheap.

Ah yes, knew there was one I was forgetting! Been a few months without the S3 now so I'm losing touch with the latest and greatest mods!

Thanks, I'll take a look in to those CAI's.
Forgot to mention about fitting cruise control and the non smoker cubby hole. Is this something Dave or N8 will supply cheaper than a dealership as well?

I would also like some BBS CH's if anyone is selling up at the moment?

I'm in love with the Rotors at the moment - they make even a pre-facelift car look fresh as a daisy! I had some CH's on my last S3 (same as yours) - but I started pining for Rotors in the end, and the other day I had 3 sets - 18's / 19's and 20's!!

Had two new Michelin PS3 tyres fitted and picked up a new cam follower and revised D type DV from TPS during the week. Forum member and also ex Renault Sport man Ben aka BMH.01 popped round to take a look over my car and ended up fitting them for me - no doubt he had it all done a lot quicker than I would of done :o.k:

The old DV was not split but the cam follower showed some signs of wear.

He also brought his VCDS and programmed the windows to close with one touch from the fob, alarm chirp when locking/unlocking the car and stopped the doors unlocking when I remove the key from the ignition.

Unfortunately it seems I do not have the option to have the advanced DIS as module 9 only goes up to byte 22 on my car, we tested on Ben's and his goes over 30. My car is 2007 so does anyone know if this is normal?

I'm also pretty sure I've read there is an option to configure the one touch indicator to blink 5 times instead of the standard 3 but he couldn't seem to find that either?

alright mate, I'm also a fellow newbie s3. Been on the bag scene for a couple of years now so not too alien for me. Just a question what mileage has yours done, just looking at the follower, haven't done mine yet as only got it back yesterday as it had an engine light come on. Mines on 46k
