2013 Audi S3

is the new S3 visually more distinguishable than the older one in your opinion?

All I compare it to is the current S-line. Except for the grille, rear diffusor, 4 pipes and plastic mirror caps in matte chrome color, and optional S3 rims there isn't too much difference. That makes the s-line exterior package such great value.

Nevertheless the S3 is a sheer example of less is more. I love it :)

Great photos! Thanks. Have you got any higher resolution photos as these appear quite small in size.
This is the colour that I want !

Love that colour. Watching the video the rear is deceptively similar to that of the Q3 and Q5 or is it just me?

Estoril is marvelous, yet I advise you to see the color live on some (other) Audi before ordering. IMHO pictures (read computer screens) do not give a realistic view of Estoril.

short and sweet ... but looks superb !!!

i am a 3 door person - so why do I like the 5 door SB so much ? ... possibly even more than the 3 door S3, it looks fantastic !

I am fairly intent on buying an S3, but i would never buy a car without driving it /seeing it first.
When are the s3 demonstrators due at the dealerships?
none of the dealerships near me have one - i am in north yorks.

That is good advice but I have already done my homework and have seen Estoril blue on an audi in the flesh. It is a unique, and as you said, fascinating colour.

totally agree have had last 2 cars in 3 doors as looked better and sportier, but just ordered sport back (A3 s line) after considering both. sportback has grown on me & looks just as good as 3 door but more practical.

With new models you have a choice, personally I read several reviews looked at the A3 and colours etc.
Having done that I was happy to order an S3 Estoril Blue Sportback Stronic (with roof bars just like the one above!) back in June with an eta of early November.
I do hate waiting for new cars though....at least this thread gives me a daily me fix. ;-)

The bigger ones. Didn't mention that they were so small.

Hope so mate :)

The first time I am likely to see estoril blue will be when the Dealer calls to say my car has arrived :)

I'm quietly confident the colour will look superb though and certainly prepared to take this chance based on the pictures, videos and favourable comments posted by those that have seen it first hand.

It will look great on S5 and S3 :)
So November delivery for you then Snake?
Geneva Motor show was 5 months ago now - and where has that gone - so the time will zip by now!

5 months already since Geneva ... wow !

yeah my wait continues through to November I'm afraid.
was told would be sept when I ordered in May but Dealer messed up and just 'guessed' sept would be ok I reckon without checking.
build date came through as Oct so looking like 1st Week Nov now.

On the plus side I have changed my order to a black edition - but estoril paint remains firmly in place :)

Hello there! Old poster here...

Currently own a 8P S3 sportback, and just ordered the new model on friday.

The spec is -
S-tronic
Glacier white
Pan sunroof
Privacy glass
Black roof rails
Black styling pack
Super sport seats
Interior light pack
Advanced key
Sat Nav
Xenon adaptive plus lights
Bang & Olufsen sound system
Rear parking sensor

Was unsure about what colour to go for, but i still love white Audi's, was close to choising Estoril or Misano though. The dealer has quoted me a rough estimate of december delivery (Leeds) and seems to think it will definitely be before the end of the year, so i'm remaining hopeful. I was actually wanting to go for the S3 saloon, but my current sportback is almost 4 years old and i simply could not stand to wait another year for it, so i'm hoping they bring out an RS3 saloon in a few years time!!

Just a few questions...

1) Are the new Pan roofs different the the 8P models? For some reason i'm thinking they only cover half the roof, i actually hope they do so the black roof rails stand out.

2) Has there been any mention of new remap software from REVO, GIAC etc on the new S3?

Thanks alot guys, let the countdown begin!

Nice spec mate. I've managed to find a picture of the sunroof (attached below) hope it helps.

Not sure about the remap software though.

Pan sunroof

Nice one Paul, appreciate that!

Hopefully the black roof rails coming down the back half of the roof will look really good!

I will keep searching around for remap news for the 8V S3, a bit of tuning on the model is going to really make the performance something special!

Yeah I think the roof rails set it off nicely!

Sub 5 seconds to 60 is pretty special to me anyway, the quickest car I've ever had prior to this S3 would have been my 1.6 clio when I was 17!

Wow, seeing these pics is making me so excited for the 8v RS3 :)

Wowzer! Quite a leap then?

You are gonna love the power of these things, not to mention the new model is 60KG lighter

I remember some members on here having there 8P S3's up to around 360bhp with the REVO stage 2 + software, so you can only imagine what the 8V will be capable of, pretty scary really!

anyone kind enough to photoshop the above pictures of the estroil blue with the '5 parallel spoke' part polished alloys please?

S3 Sportback Manual
Estoril Blue
Part Polished Alloys
Comfort Pack
Tech Pack
Audi Sound System
Audi Phone Box
Hold Assist
Tyre Pressure Monitor
Folding Heated Wing Mirrors
Aluminium roof rails

Confirmed build week 39, due at Wimbledon Audi in mid-late October.

Can't wait :rockwoot:

There is a YouTube video of new panoramic sunroof here if you want to see in action, I've spec'ed it and thinks its great

I never knew the base s-line had quad exhaust pipes an aluminium s3 style front grill and s3 style alloys?

I does stand out, maybe not enough to you but as you said it's enough for most people that have actually ordered the car, such as myself.

Stansted Audi have a whole car park full of new A3s down at their storage facility and in there are two new S3's in amoungst those - the only way of spotting them from a distance is the ali look wing mirrors  Joking aside, I owned the previous S3 and was very happy with it and am looking to change my 3 series for a new s3, but spending that kind of money for me personally I want something that does stand out from something costing half the price. Call it what you want, but that's my take on it. The colour of the car makes a big difference, the darker colours just blend in with all the other A3's IMO. Fine if that's what you want. I get it the Q car thing totally, but flying under the radar is one thing, digging a tunnel under it is another! Just odd Audi have not offered the 'best' S3 standout colours as options with the new car. Solar orange, Sepang Blue, etc ... that'll be how much extra ..?

BTW I have already seen a new sportback with S3 alloys (the twin spoke star design ones in anthracite) on it driving through Chelmsford a few days ago - at first I thought oh hello, that's a new S3... I caught it up to take a look.. no, just another A3 ...

I also owned the previous S3 and never really understood this take on things. To me the S3 was always just a fast A3. I liked the stealthy look compared to all the shouty VXR crowd. As for costing half the price, a 1.8TFSI Quattro S-Tronic is about £3k cheaper than the equivalent S3. To me, it's probably the bargain of the range and will probably be my next change in 18 months. If it had been launched 6 months earlier, I'd be in one now.

They do. Isn't that the whole point of Audi Exclusive paint. £1500 over the cost of standard metallic is hardly bank-breaking if you want a truly individual car.

It's not toooo bad a price when you consider all the parts that need to be custom painted - body, doors, bumpers, wing mirrors (on A3s), door handles, parking sensors, headlight washer covers, shark fin, spoiler, etc.

Anyone got more Phantom Black pics or got one being delivered soon? Keen to see some high res. photos.

anyone considered Racing blue mica over Estoril blue? is the price difference justified? Estoril blue....does it turn heads?

This is what I am talking about chaps... IMO that's what an S3 should look like :rockwoot:

That does look quite good, although not really for me. You could achieve that fairly easily. They look like the S-Line wheels though which are an option on the S3 but in anthracite. Someone on the forum has already had their S-Line ones done in anthracite.

I'm not sure what shade of blue this is. Looks a little dark for Sprint Blue? Might look even better in Sepang Blue for the sake of an extra £1500! There are a few images earlier in this thread: http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/new-a3-8v-chassis/181542-2013-audi-s3-7.html#post1850791

Hi I am new to this thread but have been watching for a few month , I feel some of the recent comments are a bit it strange . The S3 is a fantastic car , if you need to bling it up its not the car for you. For the record I will be ordering my car for 2014 reg .

Sports back.
estoril blue.
standard wheels.
and most of the options.

The cost is around 42k ,but hoping to get good discount in January2014, apprieciate all previous comments which as helped me to make my spec.
