Can anybody recommend or offer some advice on what replacement engine mounts to use. I've read up a bit on the options and there is a lot of talk about solid nylon mounts to replace the fluid sealed mounts which are standard?? I'd be interested to see what feedback anyone can offer on the options. My 2.0TFsi is a daily driver so I'm not after race car performance, just a cost effective replacement to keep me away from the main stealers!!

I was thinking exactly the same Mate. Looked at the performance snub mount and read their reviews. I am not convinced that Audi manufacture their engine mounts softer because they don't know what they are doing! There has to be a reason for it and am sure they would have revised these items if they felt it would improve the feel of the engine. Anyway, I changed my snub mount for an identical OEM part....very easy to do as long as you have access to a ramp or pit. Not sure, but it feels slightly smoother and I feels less rattly...but that might just be my imagination.

I understand if you go for stiffer mounts you will feel more vibration at standstill and idle.....and I didn't fancy that much as like yourself, I use my car on daily basis and do a lot of km's.

I swappped out the snub mount for an OEM version a few weeks back but it didn't resolve my problem. I'm getting vibration and don't get a smooth pickup on the transmission. Also getting excessive noise which I first thought was exhaust but appears to be reverberation along the pipe. All this points to a dodgy engine mount. I've got an indy who will do the swap for me but unsure whether to go stock after market. I'd rather have the smooth ride and transmission that you get with OEM mounts but they're not cheap. I guess the question is will cheaper after market mounts compromise this. Does anyone have any experience?

Vibration?....where exactly in neutral?...is it worse in 1st and second gear?....It's not your clutch / dual mass flywheel that is the possible issue?

It's a very subtle vibration in all gears including neutral. It's also intermittent, somedays worse that others. This along with the additional noise suggests engine mount don't you think? The fact it is intermittent suggests the engine moving with the vibration and noise dependant on how the engine is sat?

Sorry Mate, didn't mean to try and freak you or your wallet out with the suggestion of other issues. Just that I have had experience of DMF disintegration in my previous diesel car and took me over a year to have it diagnosed...but you have a petrol so wouldnät think it's likely. Do you have automatic or manual btw? If manual does the clutch noise change when you depress the clutch when in gear or neutral? Not sure how many miles you have done.....

Mines on a manual box. No noticeable problems or noise change with the clutch. I'm just coming up 97k which is consistent with other posts about failed engine mounts. Just reluctant to pull the trigger on the purchase without feedback on after market mounts. Looks like I might have to take the hit and go OEM for peace of mind.

Doesn't sound like yer clutch you'll be pleased to know....surprised about the main engine mounts though...Jaysus, mine is on 130,000 miles with the same engine mounts and my snub mount didn't really need replacing by the looks of it. Recommend you exhaust yer searches before going down the engine mount replacement route.....it may be something really simple and cheaper......Have you had a diagnosis from an Audi indie garage...may be worth dragging the car round a few for their tuppenceworth...keep the faith and keep lookin'.

Cheers
