my MTC motorsport CAI has arrived..................................(with pics)

i decided to buy an MTC motorsport CAI from ebay on weds for the bargain price of £179.99 +£14.99 delivery

and it turned up fri morning

But to be honest i was a little disappointed with the quality (see pics)

it had sharp edges and the welds inside were not ground flush.




















but after getting the dremel out and some sand paper, and a blast with some matt black, it ended up like this, (excuse the filter, it was a spare group A cosworth filter i had lying around)















my car is std and it made a great difference in the way it drove, smoother revs and the engine brake is less, so off throttle is much smoother, it may of given a bit more power and pick up is better.

apart from the quality of the kit when it arrived, i would say its definitely worth the money:icon_thumright:

just need to clean up the engine bay now

That's poor finishing tbh, especially when it sits on silicone pipes, but as with everything, they're fighting with ebay fees, mass market & being able to turn them out enough to make a profit, by no means is that an excuse, but things slip with demands in life.

yeah its a bit battered lol,cleaned it and re-oiled before fitting will get a new one soon when the misses is not watchin lol

Yikes, that looks well sharp! I thankfully did not have that problem.

Did you pay full ebay price?? I didnt...

Circular, it's the same as the ITG.

Exactly, it works very well too. A few rough edges on bits you don't even see wouldn't stop me buying again.

yeah id still buy again, for the price it was a good buy, and the car feels better so does its job,
looks better painted black.
