and where can you get that oil cap from? thanks

i had a look and people have said 85 pounds all in im gonna order mine tomorrow once i get the order number confirmed, can anyone recommend good paint to paint it with?

Do the Revo and AMD intakes make that psst psst psst noise during hard acceleration like a P-flo does? Not when you release, actually on WOT?

Nice bay reddejavu even oops was a quote a seen from s lol

Off the top of your head I dont suppose you know how much these bits are do you? :)

06F103925H correct number, an there's some genuine audi R8 oil caps on eBay £29.99..

Yes they do although Revo makes more on release I think, but is tad more quite low revs.

Doesn't this noise get on anyone else's nerves? I don't mind the noise on release but on WOT it sounds rubbish IMO. I've removed my p-flo because of it.

When I had my P-Flo on it was nuts loud, got really tired of it, my new intake is bang on.

Im even changing my BOV back to re-circ soon. Thankfully it's dual purpose. wooo

Well looks like today is the day I start ordering my first parts for the car thanks alot for everyone's help :) know it must get annoying with new guys asking same things but been a big help to me as I'm still trying to learn the car this site is defo the place for answers haha

Everyone's here to help each, I'm same as you I knew everything about my 8l but I'm having to start from scratch again now I've got the 8p. Who said learning was dull 😀

A lot of it is noise from the turbo on lift-off.

With a bigger turbo, turning over a lot slower, there is very little noise from mine, and certainly no squealing and chirping like the old K04 used to do at full tilt.

so just by putting a new CAI you get alot of noise through the car then?

The Amd intake is pretty quite . don't notice the noise as much with a dsg as the gear changes are a lot quicker

You will get some increase in induction noise, but you also have to remember that the reason for fitting a CAI is to go alongside remapping the engine.

This results in the little K04 being run at it's compressor limits, and the result is all the screeching and wheezing that goes with it.

hmmm interesting, so would you go as far to say maybe not worth forking out for a premium type CAI(more air flow obv) kit if a car nearly got 80k miles and remapped stage 1 cus could maybe destroy turbo in due time?

I don't think so.

The K04 may be run to it's compressor map limits at Stg2+,but they rarely fail outright, and mine ran at Stg2+ for around 20 000 miles before the BT arrived.

All parts fail eventually, and I think you have to view turbos as maintenance and replace items in any case,as anything that spins at 100 000 rpm won't last forever.

Alex does it make much of a difference if it is mapped before the CAI is put on? Obviously I expect it's better to do the map with it on, but I'm putting my CAI on later and mines been mapped by JBS for a good few month now!

At Stg1,you don't need a CAI.

Stg2,probably not,but Stg2+,definitely,or it will run lean and misfire.

At any stage, even stock,a CAI will open up a bit more power and torque.

when I had stage 1 revo, I added the cai after the map (a few weeks after) and it made quite a noticeable improvement, made me feel as if the car was strangled by the stock intake, so I would say that with any different software the cai is of benefit, I was only buying the intake to go stage 2+ but I think it's a big restriction on anything but stock software

Quick update Revo intake LTFT are about 10%, on stock I get 3%, will check all the clamps and what I found out few days ago is that one of the exhausts gasket is leaking a bit so that can cause higher reads me presuming. Hopefully will get my car booked in to get it repaired next week.

That's interesting, so if there isn't a problem elsewhere then the FT with the revo cai isn't great

i did a log of itg cai once and fuel trims were spot on :D
