Help me become a proud 1st time buyer/owner :D

possibly :p he's going to get back to me with some more info and pics first... then i'll get the HPI and ask if i can get an AA check over if I still got feeling for it. go for a spin in it then see what happens :p

might do if i can get hold of it :) but think the AA check should spot if there is any damage/hidden past. looks great though so I'm quite confident that all's good :D

new listing on autotrader: Audi A4 2.0T FSI Quattro S Line 4dr 211 S-LINE, F/S/H 2009

not too bad, quite a few miles but good price! btu it's 300 miles away!!!!!

Sorry did reply back earlier - but my message not posted?!!!

here it is again:

wtf!
****** - did u not view the car on sat?

Bak to main topic.
cant believe there a few Quattro s-line for less thn £15k.
all tiptronics are £17k+ :-(

this link u posted has no satnav.
park sensors?

doesn't look like it has parking sensors :\ not from thebumper anyways... and it is a billion miles away so prob give that a miss... but shows the lower priced cars out there.... just miles away from me xD

nah I didn;t go to view that car on sat :( when I phoned up wed they had already sold it :( so now i'm either thinking the white one with B&O for £15995, or the grey one with everything for £16984.... but obv would have to haggle a hell of a lot on the price before I would be happy parting with my cash :(

how's your hunt coming along? stuck in the same boat as me xD

(I've even started teetering with the possibility of an avant instead of saloon just to see whats out there.... but they've usually done quite a bit more milage and none the cheaper :p )

None for me :-(
auto version of wot u after is non-existant for sub£16k

i am happy with avant but prefer look of saloon.
am even looking at a trim lower now (SE) - boo! :-(

yea i've had a little look at the SE but I know in my head that it's not s-line and although it's just a name (and some features) I'd prob be kicking myself if I settled for less than what I wanted xD

yea the avants aint bad :D could be handy for moving stuff :D but... dunno.... seems too sensible for me currently :p

with the new reg coming out at the end of august there should hopefully be an influx of cars onto the market over the coming weeks so hopefully expand our options a bit :D

That'd wot I am hoping for too! :)

But with my PX - that ll go down in value too :-(

yea, my mum has said to find out how much i can part ex her kia rio for but i'd feel bad xD It's her car (although pretty much mine now as I can't remember when she drove it last and I pay for everything on it mots etc etc...) and it's handy as it's a hatchback for random shaped loads (we actually got a leather sofa in the back of it before! xD

am really hoping something comes sooner rather than later as I really want mein Audi now!!! and all my mates are getting fed up of me talking about them :p and time is ticking till I go away to telford on the 22nd Aug so want it to show off to some friends :D hehe

yea I'm thinking a cheeky REVO too ;) maybe not straight away but deffo down the line... maybe a month later hahaha!!

as for what else... depends what's on the car already really... probably do the LED internal lights, possibly lower it a little, maybe look at some subtle tinting on at least the back windows. Just have to wait and see really :D gunna get a rubber floor mat for the boot to try and keep it clean xD

In that case why not OTT it and add:

Bling wheels
Body decals
Sports spoilers
Body kit
KITT red moving LEDs
Underside lights
Door pool lights that shine out the Audi logo
Add lights to Audi logo
Debadge car
Sports exhaust

Then tackle the engine/mechanics! :)

In the words of Gandalf "Don't tempt me Frodo!" haha!

Is that a list of what you're going to do ;)

Forgot, I was thinking about debadging the "a4" and "2.0t quattro" off the boot so will just have the audi rings.

the Kitt red led scanner would be awesome but maybe a bit out of place haha xD

think quite a few of the others would make me look like a douché :p don't get me wrong, I love most of that stuff when it's done right but i'd probably look like a tool :D that and the extra cost as capital investment and probably bump up to insurance premium :p

been pretty lazy with the search the past half week..... been checking but haven't seen anything new pop up :( 3 and a half weeks till i got northwards on my road trip so time is running out.... :( prob have to just wait it out and take the rio on this journey...BOOOO! or just hire and audi for the weekend haha... extended test drive ;)

Get it Revo'd as soon as you find one, as 20% sale on at the mo!! :sign_plug:

hehe thanks steve! where would be my nearest compitable center? had a quick browse of the site a week or so ago but every place i clicked on said it was fwd(maybe rwd too) but not for all wheel drive with the quattro. I'm down in Swansea, South Wales.

There's | GotBoost Performance Tuning
who aren't far away from you. as for Revo software, our dealers would normally set the software up to your vehicle on the road in real life driving situations, rather than on a dyno.

ahhhh yea I had read that some places do it actually on the road rather than on a dyno. I know where that place is, just a quick blast down the motorway (quicker on the way back I'll bet ;) lol ). so are there advantages/drawbacks to having it tuned on the road rather than dyno?

You also have the guys at REVO technik ecu remapping from TSR performance not far away from you, blast over the bridge & back.

On the road I look at it that you're getting realistic airflow and cooling to the Intercooler/Intake etc, rather than a fan blowing towards the center of the vehicle that many tuners use, when in fact the coolers are often offset, also you can simulate 'Real driving' with load etc.

In simple terms, no your vehicle doesn’t need to be tested on a rolling road. Our R&D department spend hours on the road, track and rolling roads during test and development before the software is released to the public so before the software is released to you, it’s already been tested and proven in house. What is important is a road test and inspection of the vehicle before it's flashed, all our dealers are capable of checking over your vehicle to see if there are any obvious issues that need addressing prior to Revo software being installed. The peak numbers you get on a rolling road are typically referred to as ‘Pub Talk’ numbers; who has the most power and torque! In reality the Peak numbers are largely irrelevant; it's the power/torque throughout the rev range and the power delivery that's important the peak number gives very little indication to how capable a vehicle is or how well it drives. Unfortunately there’s a lack of understanding in the industry and still a requirement to quote peak figures? When Revo and our dealers set vehicles up on the road, we are data logging and feeling how to car drives to get the most from it for you the driver, not just trying to chase a peak number.

Please feel free to look at some of the links below, which can make interesting reading.

thanks again :) will give those a read through soon :D

EDIT: had a read through and very interesting stuff :D makes good sense too! just need an audi now so i can throw my money at you guys for some extra go and mpg :)

how long does the tuning process take? under an hour, a few hours, whole day, longer?

TWENTY PERCENT off?!!!
I want one now - THEN buy my Audi!

So, I am kind of new to re-maps - so what is on the road and Dyno?

I see some members here have remap their A4 Quattro 2.0T from 211bhp to 300bhp - is that do-able without any other mods?
Am thinking of REVO it on a 2008-2010 A4 Quattro 2.0T Tiptronic S-Line (I suppose saloon or Avant no difference?)

Yeah - me too!
De-badge (but leaving the S-Line badge) :)

on the road is literally driving the car about on the roads and dyno is a rolling road e.g. set of rollers in the ground, you park up ontop of them and the car gets strapped in place so you can drive the car on the spot... like a treadmill for cars xD

not too sure about hitting 300 without mods... but i'm still learning myself :D (and its 208bhp, 211 is PS... some other slightly different form of measuring power.... but now i'm being pedantic ;) )

don't think there's much if any difference between tuning the saloon or avant, just the avant weighs a little more :p

leaving the s-lines on the wings yea? ay i'll prob leave them too. not sure if all the badges are just glued on or if some might have tabs and leave a hole under them ( but i think they are all glued on). nice :D hehe all these plans and no cars...hahaha!

Couple of real nice contenders on auto trader for me!

S-line at £14k but mileage 80k :-(
SE at £15k but I really want a S-Line :-(

Yes! De-badge except for prestigious s-line.
Then foot down on the REVO and other drivers behind thinking wtf was that? Lol

U right.
We couple of sad dudes know little of Audi s and talking like we have Audi s - ha ha ha!
We need a life don't we?

Thought u were having a look at the silver high mileage one?

Cheers mate!

I did choose the 3.2 over the 2.0t (thinking less turbo = less problems).
So I test driven that 3.2 from JCT600 - and didn't like the power delivery of the 3.2 :-(
Besides - its got no parking sensors ...

JCT600 knocked off £500 when I saw it.
Now thy knocked off another £500 - so must be getting desperate!

With the performance of the 2.0T and 3.0tdi, I didn't think they did a 3.2!

S-Line and 2.0T were my top priority. My 2.6 puts a smile on my face, but not as much as putting my foot down in my 2.0T. I preferred the spec of the S-Line and the harder suspension, although the wife complains its too hard, particularly after driving out wallowy convertible. The avant comes with the single tail pipe either side unlike the saloon which has the twin pipe single box.

I struggled to get everything I wanted for mine, but really like the car. The only problem is as the boys get older, the A4 starts to feel smaller...so I'm guessing it will be the A6 for me next.

For Software & set up, I'd always say allow 1 1/2 - 2 hrs on site.

Correct Revo/STaSIS software with just a stage one (no hardware) will take the factory 211 to 305 Bhp on average and 258 Lbft to 348 Lbft of Torque. But it's not just all about figures, it's the over all drive-ability after having the car Revo'd, the difference is incredible, hence we can offer the 30 day money back guarantee with confidence, if not happy.
We don't quote it, but driven in same manor you will also see a rise in MPG. Reason for not quoting is that most will drive far more 'Enthusiastically' after having the software put on their car.

Loads of information and useful explanations can be found on our Website -

Exhaustive Testing

As for on the road and dyno, the Dyno is the 'Rolling Road' where power figures are measured, other people will do mapping on a Dyno, however the figures are often unrealistic and not as good as been set up 'Live' on the road as the vehicle won't be getting correct airflow/cooling on the Dyno, most point fans to center of vehicle, when Intercoolers are offset, Dyno's are indoors, so again heat builds up more than on the roads and the loads on the engine will differ on a Dyno to on the road in 'Real Life' driving situation.
Hence following software installation, all Revo flashed cars are then road tested for correct set up.

Thought u were having a look at the silver high mileage one?

hahaha I'd say "enthusiasts" rather than sad ;) I think.....

nah that silver (one on ebay I think we were on about) listing ended :( another one bites the dust xD yea that red auto is nice but as you said, be sacrificing s-line for SE...not the end of the world but if ya like me...it's the little things in life :p

this influx of used cars from people looking to get the latest plates better start happening soon xD mostly looking at that white (B&O/parking) £15995. Audi A4 TFSI Quattro S Line -B&O -PHONE - H/SEATS - CRUISE - RAC WARRANTY INC 2.0 4… bit over my price range (by like 3k) but the best looking candidate :p wasn;t too keen on the white, but the more I've looked at it the more I'm liking it, not sure if I prefer the white more than the grey now tbh. the grey one that was fully loaded has vanished today :(

also seen this when including avants. looks pretty decent, in budget, all the trimmings, estate :\ hummmmm only one company owner :p doesn;t say milage so I imagine it's pretty high >80k easily im imagining.
Audi A4 2.0T FSI Quattro S Line Spec Ed 5dr [Start Stop] SAT/NAV+B/O Special Edition

Audi A4 2.0T FSI Quattro S Line 4dr Saloon 2009 or possibly this, its in budget (gotten cheaper as was 13k) reasonable miles and age, private seller....... but base tech so no upped sound or nav... tech wasn;t important to me to begin with but i'm finding myself becoming greedy xD

Was a 2008 reg i tested.
strange being a s-line there was no parking sensor :-(

Good to know abt the exhaust layout on the avant vs saloon!

1st one looks good and priced right!
but no satnav

2nd one yeah got to be 100k+ to be that cheap!
no satnav nor park sensors.

3rd one awefully cheap too!
No park sensor(?) nor satnav

y u get sooooo many choices?
and me almost none :-(
no fair!

U REVO-ing it to 305bhp as Steve confirms?

yea really like the look and styling of the first one! no sat nav isn't big a deal really... would be nicer for that price if it did though :p

the second...yea must have done moon miles but I'll find out about that soon.... but it is an avant so not sure... always nice to have more room but just prefer the saloon look so much more. no nav/parking? yes it does xD even says in the title ;) and look in the pics hehe!

yea the 3rd one is standard, no nav, sensors....nothing :( but is nicely in the budget with room to get lower too!

3 choices is hardly loads as one is a different model and one is out of budget and the remaining one just comes across as a bit bland :p (lack of features)

Um as for revoing... I would like to, not sure if I'll do it straight away, maybe a few months down the line after I;m used to the car and then will actually notice the difference in stepping up. although am planning to drive to netherlands late sept/oct and we're now dabbling with the idea of having a day trip to the Nurburgring.... so dunno whether me having more power for that would be a good or a bad thing xD

At least with more power, the option is there if you want to use it & you soon will with a trip to the Ring! :racer:

Also increased MPG (like for like driving style)

you sir make a fair sales point... would be nice with that extra bit of power... more for the straights xD and yea! increased MPG whilst plodding there along the motorways will help :) prob take a fair distance to break even on the cost of remap against savings from MPG.... but every little helps.... and i imagine the increased grin on my face can justify it regardless ;)

Well sooner it's mapped, sooner you can start saving those MPG's! (subject to driving style of course...)

well as soon as there's an "it" to actually get tuned you'll be one of the first to know ;) said it before and saying it again... that white one is growing on me :p

ahhhh!!!! ***!!!!!!!!!!!!! just went on the dealers website of the white saloon with b&o and on their site it's listed as sold!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! WHY DOES NO ONE REMOVE THEIR AUTOTRADER ADVERTS!!!! getting really frustrated at this now!
