What turbo does the 8v use?

I read a bit on Wikipedia and it said something about the 8v using the i4 turbo.

I believe these have always been used in the Audi a3 range except for the s3's which uses the k04 turbo.

Any idea what the differences are and if it is possible to upgrade to the k04?

Hi, I believe the turbo is a Mitsubishi TDO2 ----------can I ask why you would want to buy a new car with the latest technology then retro fit a turbocharger that dates back to the mid 1990s first on the A4, then the original TT. The rotating mass of the old turbo will be at least four times heavier than the latest turbos, so by fitting the ko04 lots of lag would be introduced amongst other things.
