I was having a chat at work today with some off the guys, and we got a bit nostalgic for some off the old board games we owned.
A few of the young lads didn't have a clue what we were talking about, having never heard off any of them.

So I thought I would stick a thread up and see if it jogs anybody elses memorys.

I used to love all these games, Crossfire was awesome until you lost the main ball for the centre then it turned into a steel ballbearing rifle to shoot at each other.
ScrewballScramble was great fun too, unfortunatley it was as noisy as a jackhammer, I bet parents never realised that when they first bought it, Listening to that for hours on Christmas day.
Downfall was a bit more strategic and soo sooo sooooo frustrating.

Kids these days, don't know their born !!!!

Lol, my boys favourites were Mousetrap, Operation and Buckaroo. :) x

Kerplunk, Mousetrap were excellent, does anyone remember/ or had 2 boxers which had 2 push buttons on back of base and punched each other until you knocked other over? Cannot remember name at all.

if I remember correctly it was " Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots " or at least that was the version I had.
Also does anyone remember Mastermind, where you had to guess the four coloured pegs your mate chose, a bit more cerebral than the usual games, also Hungry Hungry Hippos. Awesome.

Here's a few more to take us down memory lane.

Check out the smile on the wee dude from Connect 4. He's so happy to be playing it. The age of innocence.

Never really played Risk, seemed like too much hard work for my liking. Lol.
I was a big Ludo fan when I was a lad. I'm waiting for the next gen console version of Ludo. Ludo to the Max!!!

Lmao, Scott, your still a lad. Cool to meet you on Sunday. :) x

I was traumatised by buckaroo! Used to scare the life out of me when it went off! :scared2:

I have fond memories of tin can alley and big trax with the dumper add on - although saying that we used to have a budgie that used to knock the cans off tin can alley before i could shoot them off - the same budgie used to ride on big trax and poop on it too

Evil keneval  what a great toy!!
The toy had had most of was action man, with the tank, helicopter, escape tower etc.....i played for hours with them.
I also had a 'cadet rifle' with a bullet that flipped out when it was cranked, made of real wood too not like the plastic modern stuff.Ahh those were the days.

Ker Plunk was an old fave of ours, we had the original Monopoly, but never really got to play it as we always ended up fighting over who was going to be the car!!!

Anyone remember Super Cup Football??

Nice one Nilz.
Super Cup Football was the bomb. Until you pinged the ball off the board and tried to find it!!!
again another noisy game, used to love it tho.

Yes mate, i remember I wanted this for ages and finally got it for Xmas, I was over the moon.

Im sure we still have it somewhere, just need to find it.

I had a look on Ebay the other day for it and they are going for £50+!!

Monopoly (original of course!)

And any board game that you could put a 2p piece on to create a shot drinking game when you land on it!

Never mind board games...who else here used to buy rolls of caps from the corner shop and smash them with bricks?

yes mate! i can! i was one that did this lol!
tear a big strip off and just hit and hit and hit! lol! many times it did not work as the cap was destroyed by the brick!
a really bad ratio of bangs per roll! lol
can anybody remember devil bangers? like rizla papers twisted to form a little package full of gun powder or something that you used to throw and explode with a bang?
probably banned now though! :(
oh the good old days!

***edit! they do exist, but called 'fun snaps' now! how odd! ***

i remember the Jaws variant of Buckaroo they brought out. i used to have a couple "Stock Car Smash Up" cars too - had a big wheel in the middle that you threaded a toothed cord into and yanked to make spin, and you'd fire the cars at each other or a wall - they had button type things that when hit would pop a door off etc.

had some matchbox tracks too, build loop-the-loops from the table to the ground and race the cars down. best game i had i think was War of the Daleks :-D

edit, had a few guns that used the caps - i remember there were rolls in grey and green boxes. also had a revolver where the caps were little plastic cups made into a ring so it revolved properly etc. also had one of those small black spud guns, where you'd press the barrel into a spud to make a pellet. guy up the street had an air gun thing, can't recall the name but it just literally fired air at a safari target made of hanging strips that fluttered when hit.
used to like the diecast toys like the UFO ones that would fire a rocket etc. there was an Enterprise that fired pastic photon torpedoes by turning a thing on the top.

Penny racers! They were cool!

little cars that you used to put a penny in the back as ballast to make them wheelie when you pulled them back and let go!

Devil bangers were ace! Me and my mate once took a whole box and slowly unwrapped them into a huge container to make a big one. Towards the end it accidently blew up in our faces, our ears were ringing for ages after that! Ha.

Penny racers were wicked too. I love the old days.

them little polystyrene planes were ace!, with the little plastic prop on the front!

lol @ spokey dokeys!
my mate was a bit spoilt and his raleigh extra burner had loads of them on!
i had skyway tuff two's so could not 'rock them! lol :arco:
can you remember them motorbike sounding grip things you used to get?
like a grip that would rev like a motor bike and had like a box speaker on it that would emit the "broom broom" sound!
i never had one, i used to use a lolly stick pushed through my brake calliper onto my tyre lol for continuous motor bike noises!

Theres nothing wrong with a lolly stick or a crushed coke can jammed in your wheel for a realistic motorbike noise!!

The thing that got my juices flowing "back in the day", right around the time Street Hawk was cool, was this bad boy.
