Hi all, thought ill get a thread going of my S3 progress.

After looking for 4 months, I found a decent 01' S3 with only 111,000km on the clock!

Headlight clean up/de badged few days later!

Badger5 80mm TIP - made a great improvement in respond and gave it a nice sound!

I then invested in a 3" downpipe with a 200cell highflow cat

Then got Gavin from Custom Code to give it a stage II flash.

My clutch start to slip after the tune, so I ordered a Clutch Masters 725 series (street) to suit my future applications. Should be here in the next few weeks.

Got a cheap set of TA Technix coilovers and some Porsche wheels to give it a nice meaty look..

Car looks good.

Where did you get the 725 from? Pretty serious clutch! I was looking at the 850 before.

I was looking for a set for ages. I think they look mad on these cars.

Too bad, I just spent my spare cash on a new cooler.

KW V3's ordered.

Now that I'm on holidays from Uni...I have more time to spend on the car. The headlight started to fog up from the inside because it didn't have the inner cover, so I pulled them apart and gave them a nice polish. Sourced out a new pair of new covers too so it doesn't happen again! Did some cosmetic changes to it as well.

Nice camera :) Cars looking good. I could do with doing that to my headlights too but I'm far too lazy now it's cold out.

Nikon D300, had it for years! I'm a club photographer during the weekends, so its gets abused a fair bit. I have a few sets of lens too, comes in handy when I want to take photos of cars :D

Yeah tell me about it, been freezing here in Melbourne!

Found a old pic on the comp, thought ill share it with you guys.

Took me just under 6hrs to take out the old downpipe (in peice) and fit the new one in.

Been busy over the last few days tidying up the engine bay. I ordered a few goodies from Integrated engineering a few weeks ago, ( fittings, catch can, billet accessorizes)

Proflow fittings as well as braided hoses to catch can.

IE TFSI coilpack adaptors

Painted up the inlet manifold in black and rocket cover in wrinkle red

Nice work! Those braided hoses are a right pain in the *** to cut huh? What tee piece did you use on the cam cover? It looks like 1 female and 2 male ends?

Also, is that a Lancia next to yours?

Thanks Sam! Yeah they were a nightmare, I used a grinder to cut them. Yeah its 1 female and 2 males.

Sure is, Evo Giallo edition too. Its my dads toy.. ;)

I've been wanting to do an STI red cam cover for ages.

But i haven't had an excuse to crack the car open again, and I hopefully won't :p

It looks killer with the TFSI pack and adapters. Nice work.

Where did you get the tee piece? I need one like that but couldn't find one. Need to do my hoses again. I got nylon braided hoping there'd be no stainless underneath but it did and was a nightmare to cut even with bolt croppers.

I could tell by the wheels. Nice!

Thanks dude, Yeah I wasn't sure weather to go with black or red, but the red gave it a nice contrast with the inlet manifold and coilpack adapters.

Proflow, I have a friend that works there and he hooked me up with all the fittings and braided hoses. Was thinking about coolant bubble delete? Not to sure how it all works though, a few people have done them on 1.8t and seems to work fine.

Thanks Scullies!

That's the one!

Don't think so, Alex G didn't have one in his a3, neither did a friend of mine in his polo gti..

Hmmm interesting. That one you pictured further up has a take off for a small tank though. Just had a quick read on Vortex and that's how those guys have done it. Not sure how much use it'd be for me but I do need some more space for the IE surge tank + 044.

Nice little battery on that bay. How is that day to day?

Yeah I'll ask around see how to go about it, wouldn't mind some extra room.

Not sure, but I like it...I'm thinking about getting a odyssey battery for mine.

Hi gordie, nice S3 you got there.
Got some ground control adjustable top mounts for sale if you or your friend are interested.

I just bought brand new silver project adjustable top mounts, I wish you told me earlier :(

Clutch completely gave way yesterday, to the point where it would smoke up slipping coming on boost....lol

So up the car went on the hoist and started displmently pipes, start motor, linkages etc tonight. Hoping to have to new clutch in tomorrow, will get some proper pic of the CM 725 seriers tomorrow :)

Is that a carbon wrap or proper carbon mirrors?

Nice progress pictures Gordy!
The engine bay is looking so clean! Will be keeping an eye on this thread for sure.
Keep up the good work, another lovely silver s3.

Also what clutch are you going for? OEM or aftermarket?

Can you maybe make a video of exhaust noise? :) Really like to know how this 3'' dp and sport cat sounds

Thanks man :icon_thumright:

Clutch Masters 725 series. Still battling trying to get the box out...couldn't figure why the transfer case wasn't separating from the gearbox...then realized there's a 6mm hex bolt through the middle of the axle, but was to exhausted to keep working on it, will give it a crack in the morning, will post pics up :)

Will do...although its nothing special, thinking about getting rid of the resonator and leaving the rear muffler...but I'm afraid it will be too loud then

So box came out, then the transfer case...and then the std clutch and flywheel, so shocked at how heavy the double mass flywheel is!

So beautiful...big thanks to Mike Hood from Ringer Racing for the clutch!

Nice! Jealous of that clutch.

That photo of your gearbox looks like you photoshopped it in haha

Ah nice, a prime or zoom? I just got a Canon 10-22mm and really like it. That pic you liked on my Facebook of my car was taken with it. It's been parked up while I play with a 70-200 L lens heh.

Zoom, 10-20mm Sigma...got it a few years ago!

Nice, yeah its pretty sharp! 70-200L.....jesus, you love you're camera gear haha

I must say I'm very impressed with the CM 725 clutch! Revs so freely...like a motorbike! The bite and like a switch, not sure how this will effect the drivetrain but it can't be good ahah, will probably start looking for a spare 02M box and some driveshafts. It rattles abit too, but I don't mind it.
