hi all

had a respray done on the side of my audi a4 which off the top of my head without looking LY7P TITANIUM GREY
anyway i had the car back and noticed while the side is blended in with the bumpers it is noticable that the new paint is lighter than the old paint and it has now been bugging me, is there a way i can darken it down and kind of blend it with a polish or wax ? its getting to the point that its bugging me every time i look at it

yes it was i have photos to post shortly

take it back get them to match it as they should have done

did they just order the paint from code or use a part from the car to match the shade

last time i got some for a phantom black i took the petrol car gave them code and they matched it from 5 shades to the 1 i needed

just took the paint code it was a friends son who is a spray painter to the auto trade, he managed to blend the back wing and bumper its going back next weekend to get a blend on the front wing and bumper but then the bonnet is going to stick out like a sore thumb and its bugging me

the painter should have blended in to joining panels anyway
so get him to blend in to the bonnet aswell

when my rear arch was painted it was blended in to the door and rear bumper at same time

A respray will vary in cost depending on the amount of work that is required and prep prior to that. Best to shop around for quotes even better find someone you know who is in the body shop trade. Mine was done through a friend I had the whole o/s done which included fixing the laquer that had flaked off under the door Handle and the door trim small indentation removed on the rear quarter panel. Blended into rear bumper and front bumper (still to be completed) a touch up stone chip on the bonnet and o/s lower front lip for £250 ;-)

Majik. That shouldn't cost much at all. Like I say get quotes. And that's one of the best Audi colours. I like it. :)

Thanks, the colour is definitely something special. Just don't know where to go and who to trust these days. I know of a place who has done some reputable work before and also does insurance work so they might be the first port of call.

auto bodies leeds
they will blend it perfect
they do alot of high end motors aswell

City Centre Car Care in Brum do a fantastic job. They have done all the repair work on mine and you cannot tell, Lava Grey Pearl Metallic can't be the easiest to blend but they managed it.

so i went to the audi garage and spoke to one of the body shop mec's and he was very helpful the colour is quartz grey blend70 well that was the best by far match from the match colour cards, so now to see if i can get my car rectified #stillbuggingthehelloutofme

it would bug me and i wouldnt have driven it from the painters till it looked right

any car painter should blend all joining panels

Just off the phone there, and a resounding result so back to the spray Bay it goes next week to colour match and get a respray. Will post pictures when done. Keep ya fingers x for great match

So just waiting on my car coming back from the spray Bay. Photos to follow.
When the Guy checked the Paint code and matched the colour cards he said that indeed he had given my guy the wrong paint. So now it's been redone at obviously no extra cost to me and a spruce up will defo be on the cards tomorrow

So here it is before and after. I think you will agree a total difference. Very happy with it now. Just need a goof day for some detailing.
