After a bit of a spirited drive today, as i come to a stop i filled the road up with smoke from my exhaust so I'm guessing that my turbo seals are f***ed.

I've been quoted £175 for a second hand one with 3 months warranty and £300 to rebuild the one I've got.

I'm really skint at the moment so would want to go for the cheaper option but I'm a bit worried about buying a second hand one as you never know what sort of life the turbo has had.

What do you guys think i should do (i don't want to go big turbo....lol)?

Speak to Beachbuggy, I'm sure he could do you a rebuild for a sensible price :) If you get one refurbed it'll be good as new, if you buy secondhand then you may be needing a rebuild in 3 1/2 months time. If you can find a few extra quid then at least you'd have peace of mind if your going to keep the car

Thanks mate.

I've tried to contact him but he's not got back to me.

Maybe he's got a lot of pm’s as he was online a couple of hours ago.

Have a look on Vagtalk forum on facebook, I know hes super busy at the minute but that's a good thing!

Thanks mate.

I did get one reply back from him (after sending a few reminders) but that's about it.

He must have too many emails to reply to as he is online now.

I think ill find someone else that i can get hold of if i need to.

Any other recommendations anyone ?

How did you contact dan? Facebook? I know he's extremely busy but keep at it as he always gets emails.

I used the pm on here.

I keep seeing him online but i still haven't received a reply (maybe he's got to many pm’s to go through).

TBH... If he's this hard to get hold of then i wouldn't want to send off my turbo and pay a couple hundred pound and then not be able to get hold of him. Also if he is that busy then he has probably got a long turn around time and i need it ASAP.

Does anyone know of another good rebuild company ?

Are you on Facebook? Contact him on there he uses that mostly. If he has a full inbox then he won't see your pm. Dan I'm my experience is the best I can recommend. You will NOT be dissapoibted!
