Black edition grills!!

Hi people!

What I'm wondering is the s3 black edition grill the same as say sline black edition grill as I've looked on google and they look different but wasn't sure if its just me or no as if they are different I wouldn't mind changing mine so it looks a bit more beefy like an s3

The A3 BE grille has just horizontal slats, whereas the S3 BE grille has vertical bars too.

I have the other type on my S3. The one with horizontal slats.
And colour matched mirrors. I'm in disguise....

If yours is like mine - a facelift Black Edition - then that grille should be a straight swap. I've got my eye on one of those on ebay as well. It looks like he's got a few auctions running on them, so I might see how much these end up going for as I imagine they'll end up rocketing towards the end. I hope the quality is ok, it looks good in the pics.

Yeh I know what I mean I was thinking the same leaving one or 2 to see how much they go for but if u like ill wait for u to buy and fit urs haha lol. They look good quality but weather they are when u get then home lol.
 
What worries me about the ones in the ebay link is that I can't see
if they are genuine or not?
If the whole thing has been spray painted mesh and all then I can't
see them looking that pretty for long.
 
They won't be genuine. If they're a gloss black plastic then thy should be ok, I can't imagine they'd be sprayed black though.
You get what you pay for at the end of the day, so they're not likely to be as good as a genuine grille, but if the finish is ok then they might be worth a go. Depending on how much they go for obviously.

The seller has a low number of feedbacks, and none for these grilles yet, which is why we're all hesitant at the moment.
 
Yeh I understand that I would prefer to get genuine ones if I can as they always look original which is good. Ill keep looking and see what else I can find and wait for more feedback on the ones on eBay

I just emailed the ebay seller as it says to contact him for a buy it now price. He wants £330 for it! You could get a nearly new genuine RS3 one from the classifieds section for about that money, so I don't think I'll bother, especially as nobody has any idea of the quality yet.

Oh rite I see that's a fair bit for a grill we don't actually know alot about quality etc ill prob give it a miss for now as I'm not in no great rush for one lol.

The easiest way to tell a real RS3 Grill from a replica one is to look at the mesh inside the audi rings. Ive noticed that in all the replicas the mesh inside the rings is built into the main frame of the grill whereas on the real one it is built into the actual rings that clips onto the main frame of the grill.Also some of the replica ones come with a black frame and chrome surround what is another give away as you can only get all aluminium or black OEM grills unless you swap them around yourself.You should be able to pick up a used OEM one for £250-350 on ebay.de.

That's some cracking info I love the look of the real rs3 front bumper and grill in that first picture. I'll crack on and have a look also may I ask why eBay.de lol.

Isn't the bumper in that first picture an S3 one, but with the RS3 grille?
I thought the RS3 bumper had the squarer fog grilles that were edged in silver.
 
Oh rite yeh that's the one that does look awesome but wouldn't bother with the whole bumper and all as I don't have an rs3 bit pointless lol.

I do like the grills tho just debating on which one to go for lol.
