Turbo whining, no power!

Hi, I'm new to this forum, so is like to say hi to all.
Yesterday I bought a a4 1.9 tdi Ajm. I knew there was a problem but was thinking maybe a split boost pipe. The turbo does spool, but when I pull away the it's so loud, more of a whine than a whistle, and the power is like the turbo is not there at all. The engine management light is not on, the wastegate moves ok. I hope you guys can help me out. Thanks

Hi and welcome, if you cant see any splits in pipes or pipes off, best thing is to scan it with vcds to show up any problems.
Have a look in the VCDS section h ere, VCDS (formerly VAG-COM) forum
see if anyone near you can scan it.
