help! mirrors not working

Hi

My 2008 a4 wing mirrors are not working. I can't adjust them from the switch on the drivers door.

Which feature isn't working, the mirror glass 4 way movements, folding, heated etc, need more info.

Check door rubber for broken wires.

It's the mirror glass 4 way movement that's not working. Both doors not working.

Does it have electric folding?

Not sure if they are folding mirrors but they aren't folding at the moment. Had a quick look at the door rubber loom. How do you expose the cables easily

Just checked. They are not folding mirrors but they are heated

Whereabouts are you located?

Im in Lanarkshire. I had a look at the wires inside the rubbers. All of the wires looked in tact. The purple and white one in the passenger side was a little kinked.

Maybe the switch has become faulty, it hasn't got wet at anytime has it?

Not sure. I only bought the car a couple of days ago. How could I test to see.

Have you checked the fuses. Full list of fuses and locations in handbook.

Checked the fuses too. Couldn't find one for the mirrors

Front right door mirror fuse is located in Right Hand Side of boot behind trim panel. Centre block, fuse 9, number 1 being the closest to the boot and counting going toward the exterior of the car.

Front left door mirror fuse is located in panel on LHS of dashboard, accessible with door open. Centre block, fuse 8, counting from top to bottom.

Just checked these fuses and they are ok. I've checked every fuse and they are ok.

Its going to need diagnosing with vcds 1st to see if the switch movements are being seen, but one little thing, I wonder if the switch connector has popped out, door card of job.

Does the switch illuminate at night like all the others, if not then it could be this.

Problem solved. As suggested the mirror switch was not plugged in. Thanks everyone for your help.
