For some strange reason my alarm keeps on self arming and locking the doors even thou I've unlocked the car with the remote fob and I'm sitting in side the car with the keys not in the ignition.

I've given it a scan with vag-com and no errors come up.

:uhm:

Isn't that a feature? Incase you forget to lock your car? My Golf used to do that

lol it is but not if you are in your car and then it locks and arms itself .

My Golf did the same mate, I remember once when I nipped in the shop and left Mrs in car. I took the keys with me, when I came back she was sat in the car with the alarm going off and loads of people watching her haha. The car locked and armed itself why I'd gone, I'm sure there's a button on the inside of the drivers door frame that if pressed will stop that from happening

I'll try that button and see what happens ..thanks ..

The alarm should only re arm if you don't open any doors for a while after disarming it, if you've unlocked the car and got in and it still re arms you've got an issue I'd say,

when you open your door does the DIS display that its open?

had a similar issue with my 8L, when the weather was hot it never used to recognise the door had been shut so it used to display in the DIS, points to a dodgy door sensor

Just tested and nothing displays on the DIS like it use too so must be the sensor. I also tried the passenger side and it doesn't self arm after i open the door.

Does anybody know what part number of part I need to replace ?

Mine does that too. I'm pretty sure it can be disabled with VCDS but never got around to doing it.

There's an option called Passive Arming in VCDS that sets car alarm when it's been sat idle for a while, it's a royal pain in the a**e when you're trying to do anything in the car except drive.

Not sure which module it is (it's somewhere in amongst the Alarm options ...strangely enough!), just remove check mark, save & exit.

Do I search for word: "driver side door sensor" in ETKA ?
