Well I did have a project thread before but I sold the car. Thankfully, I've redeemed myself and bought it back!

So here it is in it's previous form:

P7301855.jpg

I sold it just over a year ago, then realised I'd made a massive mistake.

My mate phoned me the other day to say that the bloke that bought it (his partners brother) was selling and did I want it. Well I offered him a lot less than his asking price and picked it up that weekend.

So it's back:

Unfortunately, he has left it with a few scars and a few "chav" additions.

Tried to remove stickers with a scourer?

So I'm going to get the W&D on it and then the mop, hopefully this week.

Then the rest:

Why? Now I need a new pressed plate...

EVERY wire in the car was twisted together... Including the remote cable for the amp...

2013-06-06 15.00.46 by TBK Shinobi, on Flickr

Speaking of which, look how thin the wire he used for, erm, part of it was:

If a wood screw through the boot floor isn't enough, what do you do? Wedge a spoon underneath it, of course!

2013-06-06 17.34.48 by TBK Shinobi, on Flickr

This stopped me wondering why the "sub" kept cutting in and out all the ******* time.

So, back in with my stuff... again. Luckily it was all cut to fit.

Then I thought I'd "fix" the parcle shelf holderupper. So a shaved bolt head and 2 nuts later:

2013-06-06 17.01.46 by TBK Shinobi, on Flickr

Then, brilliantly, I found it under the boot carpet with the clip that came off the back...

I also changed the window regulator too, as it still didn't work since the last time I owned it

Then I had a delivery...
No tyres:

Then re-fitted my facelift rears:

DSC_1703 by TBK Shinobi, on Flickr

I just got what I consider to be a reasonable renewal on this, now fully comp with like for like on the mods. The clincher however, is that I'm now covered up to 230bhp for no extra... KO3S time :D

I picked up an S2000 filter the other day:

DSC_1713 by TBK Shinobi, on Flickr

So just waiting on an adapter to arrive.

Also bought a load of detailing products, hopefully will be cracking on with that soon.

...and that's where I'm up to.

My mate has very kindly sourced me a replacement parcel shelf, so that solves that. Next I need to mop the car and do some paint correction, then sort the engine bay out. As it did look like this:

P8312196.jpg

It now looks a bit neglected. Then, full service, probably cambelt and waterpump and possibly a FMIC and KO3S...

Thanks for looking :)

Yeah it's great to have it back, I've missed it the whole time it was gone. Cheers :)

damn dude you got yourself a project on your hands, i cant believe how a set of wheels can make the car look so much better!!! well done on that dude!
iv also got a carbon forge engine cover it compliments the engine bay so nicely!
Ill be keeping a eye on this thread :rockwoot::respekt:

Thanks for all the comments guys :). Yeah the I love the wheels, I was trying to find something different for "round 2" but nothing really caught my eye as much. I almost bought some 3SDM 0.05's... But to be honest I'm glad I didn't.

Are the black alloys for sale?

They're actually Rover Gunmetal . I'm afraid not, they all have decent tyres so I'm going to run them as winter wheels, unless something else pops up.

Got my filter on today, adapter took a lot longer than I was told.

Sounds pretty awesome. As I already had the Ram-Air it's not really any louder under load, but when it dumps it's a lot louder :D

People who "modify" like whoever owned it before should have their hands chopped off!

Looks better now though!

Yeah, I don't know what he was thinking... Definitely shouldn't be allowed to own a car though. Cheers

Been quite busy with this (unfortunately).

The other day coming back from Tesco, it developed a hesitation when I pulled away from a roundabout. Very useful and was like someone slammed on the brakes.

I couldn't find anything obvious after checking it over, so decided to just replace everything, as I needed to be in Poole the next day. So new oil, filter, fuel filter, plugs (****** platinums...), cleaned the throttle body, MAF and anything else I could find related.

After that lot it ran really nice, pulled ****** strong, so I thought happy days... Until I went out the other night and the turbo sounded like this:

2013 07 01 22 26 35 - YouTube

(0:22 onward, nothing to see as I was just holding the phone by the window).

It was "chirping" when pulling away in 1st when cold, but didn't do it other than that. So I'm now on the hunt for a turbo, which doesn't help the financial situation... Although, since that night, it seems to be behaving... and pulling really well. But obviously it's not well.

Other than that, I've been slowly claying the car. It's all done now, and it needed it:

DSC_1739 by TBK Shinobi, on Flickr

So it's now all nice and smooth. Ready for this lot:

DSC_1759 by TBK Shinobi, on Flickr

I managed to do 1 wing tonight and it's come up really well. This is without wax, as I'd run out and not realised. Will have to get some tomorrow.

Really chuffed with it, a lot more hard work to go though.

I have a full album of before shots so will put up the rest of the comparisons then.

Also got another mod to go on, hopefully tomorrow if I can get someone to help me...

Thank god you got this car back and saved it from the previous owner ! Well done dude, looks good :)

Haha, tell me about it! It's actually a nice feeling to save it... Cheers bud :)

Looks like you saved that Car from a very early grave, it's good to see your fixing her back up though :)

Love the wheels there a very nice touch, did you say you had 230bhp? is that with a Ko3 or have I read wrong and you have a Ko3s?

Yeah, I think so as well to be honest... Yeah it's like redeeming myself for selling it in the first place

Cheers, I love the wheels too. Nah I don't have 230 yet, but it's insured up to 230... Hoping to get a K03s soon, but it's as funds allow. The turbo isn't such an issue, it's the supporting mods and remap... Although, the turbo seems fine now, so who knows...

More progress today.

Managed one whole side! (Minus the wing from yesterday...)

This is what was bugging me the most since I got it back... How he tried to remove sticker residue with a scourer?!

Also had the marks from when some scrote egged it sitting outside my mates house:

Sorry about the volume of pictures but I was happy with that!

Oh, and got to decide where this is going:

Just need to do in between the squares now... and the glass... and the wheels could do with another coat... and the interior.

My back is dying and I have blisters from the mop, but it was worth it I feel.

Thats looks mint!

I think im going to have to invest in a propper buffer... and practice on the girlfriends car first haha

Cheers dude :).

It's worth it, if you're worried get a DA polisher. I use a rotary, which has the potential to burn paint but if you're sensible it's not a problem.

Few bits to update, first of all, couple from the weekend with some mates:

Parcel shelf with no holes in it:

New pressed plates to replace the one he murdered:

Made some more progress on the new scratch it acquired in his ownership. Filled with layers of touch up paint, then sanded down, filled, sanded and polished back up:

I can and probably will get it better than that, but it's much less obvious so I'm happy :)

So I got a new gear knob from a newer car, and from reading found that you could un-staple the base and put it back on the original...

(New on left)

********. No way it would stretch. So I swapped the old gaiter over, which is a pain as it's a bit tired. Will get a new one.

Anyway:

Sorry, haven't been online for a while!

Cheers man. 8.5 on the front and 9.5 rear, 225/40/18s all round :)

Very interesting stuff, nice read, good progress. What a total bellend who you sold it too.

Thanks :). Yeah tell me about it, unfortunately I had to be fairly diplomatic, as it's my mates partners brother
