s3 technical help needed guys tapping noise started !!

hey guys , just picked up my s3 last weekend anyways i needed to get out in busy traffic before so i decided i would launch the car 4-5k revs and drop the clutch with esp /asr off and after this is noticed i have a tapping noise !!!!

it stil does it when stationary and doesn't seem to have lost any power , i think its transmission related but could be wrong

any usual things i should look at with them ? not to familiar with them so dont know where to start haven't plugged it into vcds yet but dont think anything will show :/ and and all help will be appreciated guys !

is it new? how many miles? is it modded? maybe the flywheel?

its 57 2008 75k on the clock , if have experienced a dmf on mk4 tdi's and thats more of a knock i assume these are the same

just been told on edition 38 that it could be a bent con rod :S i thought these engines where pretty bomb proof ? its a bog standard car to my knowledge did not think that kind of spirited driving would cause issues !

I'd be surprised if it's a bent rod,especially if it hasn't been remapped,as the rods are good for 440lbs.

The gearbox and DMF are a different matter though,and you may have damaged either.

****** ! this guy said its happened to him twice bending rods ! i assume if its a dmf i may as well get an up rated clutch and new flywheel fitted if im looking to do stage 2+ , these cars seem to be money pits !! although i do love it the cs's sway me !

What car did the guy have,and what sort of spec was it running?

I don't know anyone who's managed to bend a set of 8P S3 rods once,let alone twice.

Ill see what he was running , just taken it to my local audi specialist he said it sounds like a chain or possibly the fuel pump cam follower hopefully its nothing big !

I need it ! Il have to get some pics up of it but I do have to say I love it ! Was defiantly worth waiting for one with everything in it, what's the best software to run to go for like a stage 2+ ? I know lots of people run revo any experience with r tech I know they are big on the 1.8t stuff
