E mail from the dealer today to say car was built and for me to send the V5 for cherished plate retention. I have no idea yet how long it takes from Factory to dealer, probably 2 to 3 weeks unless they want to move it before month end....any ideas?

Must say it's been many a year since I've felt this excited about a car, probably because its my first ever Audi, and my first ever New Car :).....

Mine took exactly 2weeks from leaving the factory to arriving at the dealers, collecting Monday so 18 days in total to delivery.

Nice car, your gonna love it.

Bet you are excited, when did you order?...... And in the meantime, how did you take your mind of the Audi....or didn't you!!

It was ordered in Mid April with an estimated build date of Week 28 so its been moved forward for sure. I think the dealer has a good quota with the factory as supposedly they sell the highest amount of cars in the UK...(pinch of salt) I presume it came forward because its the SE and the majority of build are Sport and S Line. As for taking my mind off it, i haven't, not for 1 minute and its doing my head in :slapped: I already have an SD card fully loaded and a fresh batch of detailing kit waiting

You've done well with the delivery time. I'm the same as you as far as can't keep my mind of the Audi. I keep looking out for audis every time I drive to work, and look for the LED DRLs!
will be relief from this torture for you, only another 10 or so weeks for me. Lol

Surely summer would be better as you'd be driving without the headlights on more of the time!

Me neither, but I'm not going to drive around in the dark without my headlights on, however cool the DRLs look!

Possibly so, but I'm not getting my audi until sept, so Im liking Daveottos thinking!!

i am just looking forward to driving it.......was originally referring to those dull winter days when it's not quiet dark enough for the auto lights to kick in

Heh, it will look awesome. Even seen a video with the xenons on where the camera was still able to see the headlight edges, and the car just looks so menacing, it's awesome!

As i was driving into the dealer this morning to hand over some bits and pieces prior to my car arriving, i pulled in just as a transporter was arriving....with a White A3 on the back, new...now, i'm not getting too excited (well, i am really) i have a sneaky suspicion it could be mine! Talking with the Admin people earlier this week, it seems the cars just arrive, ready to go and that's when they contact the customer. I'm convincing myself it isn't mine but for heavens sake why am i sitting here shaking with excitement...i'm a grown man, supposedly!

Nice one first ever Audi, just awaiting the PDI to clear all that unwelcome stuff whilst at the port!! Haha..
Glazier white is such a crisp colour, a 13 plate Audi a3 parked next to me at work today, I thought wow! It was debadged so wasn't sure the engine type or equip level, although it did have only one exhaust pipe.

I expect the Heart rate is starting to increase.....it will be yours soon!

Ah..so PDI at the Port? that's why it took so long..........if its mine ! Yeah it's a nice White. Was ordered in Amalfi as the other half has an A1 in that colour and it changes so much with the light that i took the same colour....however, after saving some extra pennies i moved up to the Glacier....nice flecks!

Update to the delivery.....The car arrived at Tyne on 25th June...yet still no sign. I called the Audi guys and they said "yep, transport order in place for tomorrow(11 July) so we should have it mid next week (6 days to get to Aberdeen? ) after that we need to clean and PDI so you should have delivery around 24th July.

I believe that this is not the normal time-frame from port arrival to handover, 1 month!! So the wait continues :sob:

Maybe it depends on how many cars are being delivered to a particular dealership - so they will keep the car at the port until they have a full transporter full maybe?

Maybe they're talking in worst case scenario terms? Otherwise that's a long wait!

My car was put on a transporter yesterday and should be at the dealership today or tomorrow, but I guess the transporter may have cars for other dealerships in the area...

Just think of the relief when you finally get to drive away in it!

I know Aberdeen is a long way, but 6 days does seem excessive. I'd have thought 2 full days should be plenty.

Soooooo excited.....just took the call to ask when I wanted to pick up the car!!! Bit shocked as I wasnt expecting it yet but not complaining. Have a slot, so to speak, on Wednesday afternoon at 1.15..... Best go and empty all my junk out of the Mondeo.....my turn now folks......also heading to Inverness the following day so will be a nice proving run....
