I looked out the window of the venue I was working at today and saw this amusing little scene. The RS3s own personal police protection, and parked at a respectable non door dinging distance too. Makes paying all that tax worth it after all!

Logged down as 90 mph and 3 points but he said he isn't doing me for anymore dangerous driving etc.. As I am a nice fellar and the way I moved across the lanes was proffesional (because I have a HGV licence) and I spotted him and I was aware of what I was doing.
6 points I got now but the copper is going to ask if I can go speed awareness although I've already been on one and they may let me on again.
I was only practising for Gti internationals on Sunday !
I was doing 98 Mph before i even got on to the motorway. The copper told me i was "leathering" the A3 anyway and asked me what engine size it is which i replied " 2 litre" and the copper replied " Its quick isn't it "
He said to me if i would of carried on he would never of caught me but he would of been round to my house with the video evidence !
He didn't pull over the other guy but he was is on camera and will get a letter through his door very soon the copper said.

Ooops, oh well at least it's only 3 points. I have to say I much prefer the blue lights being parked next to me than flashing in the rear view mirror! At least when you get stopped by the police it's a conversation and usually a reasonable outcome unlike the pesky scamera vans.

Got pulled over this evening too on the M25.

Allegedly the cop car clocked me at 112mph but couldn't keep up until I'd got past the traffic, eased up and pulled over into the middle lane. Then came the blue lights.

Not sure what would have been the end result (fine/points/worse) but I was going to get nailed with something as they showed me the video footage (looking/sounding good!) were doing the paperwork etc - then a call came through on the radio about a suspect positively identified driving nearby on the M25 and the guy gave me the licence back, told me it was my lucky day and raced away. Sure was! Lessons I'd learned from last time may have helped, don't argue, be polite, give them the opportunity to let you off.

All this with a ****** great big wooden TV cabinet in the back and the seats down flat. Not many cars could pull that off...

Lol.

Both of yous are speedfreaks. Im happy living the life on the slow lane.

Marcus that was so lucky ! Over 100 mph is a court case.
Exactly as you say don't argue and be polite ! They are more likely to do an idiot who is arguing back and swearing like the n0bs you see on Road Wars.
On my way to GTI Internationals yesterday i travelled 140 miles and saw an unmarked silver Saloon Volvo pull somebody over and a 530d Saloon pull somebody over and on the way back i saw a marked X5 pull somebody over. The amount of unmarked cars and cameras there is these days i am scared to drive !
I have learnt a lesson away i have started to drive slower but i just find it boring i cant help it !

Blimey Marcus that was lucky! This is why I'm glad the RS3 has cruise control, boring it might be but it's a licence saving device for sure.

As for the unmarked cars the police are all over car events because they know some people will be all fired up from the action. When the WRC is on down here you can't move for cameras, marked and unmarked cars. You see a lot of locals driving very slowly! No matter how many warnings you still see plenty of spectators 'on it' between stages.

Yep. Over 100 (or 30 more than the limit in general) is an instant ban. So very lucky!

Phew, lucky break indeed!

Hope that this is the end of it and I don't receive a summons in the post. The police guy seemed to indicate that I'd got away with it, i.e. "this is your lucky day, we're letting you off this time".

Dark grey/black BMW HV12 WGC for the record...

All too easy with this piece of machinery: and we're off to Goodwood this Friday and (F1) Silverstone next week...

Fingers crossed for you marcus; hope the new baby's OK and wasn't with you...

Not so much instant...you still have to go to court and plea your case before they throw the book at you.

I know of at least 1 driver for certain, that has not been prosecuted when travelling above 100mph and being caught by the police.

Very lucky there though Marcus! lol

Yep i was using cruise control at 49 MPH in a 50 yesterday through the average speed cameras on the M6 going to and from the Internationals.
If they put average speed cameras up on all the motorways then we are ******** !
I heard a story about a motorbike event once and the Police waited until it was finished and there were traffic queuing on the road and the motorbikes which came out of the event all flew past all the traffic and the police waited at the bottom and made them all wait for abit then let them on there way !

It occurred to me, that if the cop car logged 112mph in catching me up, it is unlikely that I too was doing this as a top speed, since with their lesser acceleration they would not have caught up unless exceeding my own top speed, although I did also slow down having passed the traffic. Much like the last time I got pulled over, it seems that they really don't like the fast acceleration and this is the trigger to chase... Finger's crossed I'll never have to make that case in court now though!

All good thanks John. Wee man was at home with the toddler, hence I felt the need for a 180 mile round trip to collect some furniture bought on eBay!
