B7 rear lights fitted! Maaged to get them for a total of £60 and re wired them myself and then coded with VCDS!

Cupra splitter fitted, I don't really see many people fitting these to the cabs so I thought id do it and take some photos! Here's some pics

I well happy with it. I need to get hold of a B7 Sline rear valance thingy to replace my derv modified rear valance. The car is now begging to be lowered though, I think the splitter will look 10x better being closer to the ground so on the look out for some coilys or just some springs that will drop it a good amount. Im also going to try and heat the splitter at the ends and bend it to follow the curve of the bumper.
oh an she hit 150k yesterday! :halo:

Nice, I'm holding off on the rear lights as I've had enough fun recently with my wet ECU..

I find that my cupra splitter looks good from the front, but not the side..

I tend to leave work late and I walk the length of the empty car park looking at my car side on - the splitter looks a bit naff as it doesn't sit horizontal in line with the ground. So lowering would make it look better.

Oh dear doesnt sound good. They were a piece of **** to re wire saving £££s on the proper loom.

Yeah I know what you mean about the side view, as said im going to spend some time at the weekend with a heat gun and try to re shape it to fit the bumper better around the sides to make it look more oem

Looks sexy :icon_thumright:
Yeah most people just fiddle 'till the splitter's dead right, guess you've just got to try make it less visible at the sides, could shave it maybe? Can't say I've got much experience with splitters.

Looking very nice VagCabby, lights look especially good.

Looks spot on, well done on getting the lights working too, they modernise the rear really well.

I always thought that the only difference between b6 and b7 cabs at the rear was the lights, but for some reason ,despite the light change you can still tell its a b6. Any body know why?

I have the same splitter on my s4 cab :) like the lights were they as hard as people say to fit?

Yeah those lights look amazing, great mod!

Is it the colour of the rear valance. I think B7 may be a lighter grey type colour whereas B6 looks a lot darker.

DieselJake - Thanks, Yeah im going to have a play with it on Friday when im off work to try and get it sitting better at the sides

rjm180 - Cheers fella

Rudedaubin - The rear lights a the rear splitter are different on the b7 cabriolet, the splitter on the b7 cabs are all the same as the b6 S4 cabriolet rear splitter on all the models which have raised bits around the tail pipes, apart from the RS4 cab which is completely different.....well as far as I know! I just have the standard b6 diesel splitter which I cut to fit the tail pipes and then painted in a metallic grey until I get hold of a B7 rear splitter :) could be your mind playing tricks seeing the reg as a 04 haha

sammi - It makes the front of the b6 cab a bit more sporty looking I think! rear lights took me about half an hour to wire and fit, wasn't hard at all as long as your handy with soldering. if not then just buy the loom adapter so its plug and play! I just like to avoid spending on things if I don't need to haha hence spending 5 months on ebay to source the light cheap rather than spending £200 plus on them from else where!

krisavant - thanks, Get him to do it!!!

KO_81 - Thanks matey

Well spotted guys it does seem that it's the lower part of the bumper, It's strange because you see them on the b6 s4's but they look to be lighter on the b7.

However , It's been doing my nut in trying to spot the differences and your going to love me or hate me for this but I think I've found something else. The centre brake light. On the B7's it looks slimmer, I think it's just the design but it's definitely different, maybe to match the new rears they altered it slightly.

Yeah the center brake light is different on the b7, I think its a slightly darker red and the leds shine through more to give a crisp line of red leds rather than a solid red look of the b6. But its a direct replacement for the b6 one, ill get one if one pops uo in ebay cheap enoth!

Managed to park next to a B7 cabriolet today so snapped a photo to see the differances, only things i can see are as said, high brake light and diffuser/splitter!

I said I wouldn't.. but I've hardly driven my Cab at all in the last 6 months, so to keep my interest up, I've upgraded the rear lights to B7 units.

I got a set with the wiring loom attached - I did the same as VagCabby and opted to solder on the W5W connector to my existing loom.
The bulb holders are all 'keyed' so they fit in the correct holes, after figuring out what went where, it was easy to cut a couple of extra notches for the holders that didn't fit already.

I've just tucked the extra O/S reverse bulb behind the bumper for now.. I need to figure out what resistor to get to complete the job.

B6 wiring

B6Cab B7lights

I've coded out the brake/tail light as well so I don't have dimly lit brake lights on all the time.

Got to admit it they do look a million times better than the B6 ones .

Was the coding easy to figure out and is the resister required to stop the bulb failure warning ? I was looking for a way to code out my front side lights and I bet it's a similar setting.
