Hi guys,

'57 plate, 3 door, black... Love it! Great torque and pace, effortlessly sees you doing 100 without even realising. Bose system is wonderful too! Wife is very pleased (it's her new car).

Still en route home south on the M6... Will do a proper post later to show you it, but right now (whilst I have iPhone reception!) I have a few things to ask that I noticed and want to sort ASAP.

1. Rear wiper flaps a bit - it seems to missing a spring or something to keep it taught against the rear glass. This isn't normal I presume. Can anyone give the part number for the spring, or do I need an entirely new wiper arm (again, part number)?

2. Being from BMW's I use an online parts catalogue database called realOEM to get part numbers. Is there an Audi/Vag site I can use to find bits myself?

3. Can an armrest be retro fitted? Probably requires new centre console piece too? Am I best off waiting for a second hand one to come up or can all the bits be bought new reasonably?

Thanks for the info, look forward to showing you the car in more detail when home and had chance to give it a good clean :)

Cheers,
Keith

Hello and welcome

It would required new or second hand wiper arm

Vw/Vag parts catalogue is called etka but you have to pay for the full service but i am sure people on here will help you anyway they can if they have it

And the centre arm rest can be retro fitted, you just have to cut a square out of your centre console and buy the bolt as the threaded insert is already under there.

get some pictures up !!

1. Probably arm, I couldn't find a spring for my rear wiper.
2. ETKA
3. yep it can be retretrofitted, think NHN on the forum does retrofits

And finally congrats :D

Thanks for the tips guys, appreciated :)

From a quick bit of research it seems there is a plastic spring retainer that goes brittle and breaks off in the wiper arm, causing the floppy wiper. A new OEM one seems reasonable so will get that ordered - don't want to remove it for looks.

Is there any known decent factory supplier of OEM mats so I can get the quality without paying dealer prices? If not I'll just go genuine, although I expect them to be £70+ for a set?
