Hidden extras on cars software......??

A few years back i had a bora tdi sport with a minor abs sensor fault,took it to a guy on a vw forum who had vagcom,he sorted the fault but also offered while i was there at his house the option of a 'blip' when pressing the key to lock the car and also auto closure of the windows............must have took 30 seconds to activate these options which i never even knew they were there................

So..............will my audi SE avant have extras like these built in to the cars software that just needs activating???

And if the answer is yes i would need someone with the gadget to do it for me Please........im in doncaster....

Yes, I've done it on mine. You need VCDS...£20-£30 for a copy lead and free Lite software that would require registering for £70 to do codings or about £250 for a full, genuine lead. Forum member NHN is a UK distributor of the official leads.

I wouldn't know where to start mate

Perhaps better finding a local member who already has it and i'll pay for his expertise

Well you're too far from me! There's a VCDS thread on the forum that has a map that highlights VCDS armed members in your area. A PM with an offer of beer tokens usually does the trick

Depends largely on which modules your Car has in it. Certain basic things like alarm beep,selective locking,auto door locking when moving can be done on all V.A.G models.

Glad your happy steve, ill forward your scan shortly incase you need to replace/retrofit later

Personally I dont like the beep when locking, but I drive through a lot of residential areas at all hours and park up so rather not annoy the neighbours!

Brad it depends on your car and spec really, standard stuff like comfort closing of windows etc, anti hijacking, single/all door unlocking, the sort of things people dont really think about untill they realise it can be changed!
Some cars can have the fuel computer enabled too if its not already.

I would but the 4 hours round trip would cost you more than beer money in stress + fuel lol.

Ha ha yes ur a bit to far away going to do some ringing round next week see who is able to do it for me,

So what can I get done I like the idea of:
Anti hi-jack
Windows on fob
Single door open

Anything else I should consider??
