Hi everyone,

I recently bought 2nd hand Audi A6 Le Man 2010 from the dealer. I have few questions I will appreciate if anyone can help me.

1) Is it worth taking car warranty from the non-audi (third party) company. e.g. warranty wise, UVW etc?
2) Also my car is on the long life service plan shall I service it now as it was service last year when the mileage was aprox 38000
(although the cars setting is saying that 18000 miles to go before next service and dealer told me that I don't have to service it at the moment)

Note: Car has done about 48500 miles so far.

Regards,
Arif

Some of these warrantys can be a minefield ... read good things about the Audi extended warranty perhaps they can offer you that?

Some people regardless of who provide warranty will advised againest taking one ...

Longlife servicing IMO is not good , I would be doing every 10K miles or every year which ever occured earlier ...

What engine is your A6?

Thanks @gupsterg.

my car is 2.0TDI automatic.
I think you are right I should go for another service soon. do you recommend the service from the main dealer or shall I go to some local garage like halford or Kwik-fit.

One more thing which I have notice that I can't use the DVD player do you recon its locked or some other problem.

Sorry, If i am asking silly question as I am new to Audi.

Cheers
Arif

I go to a good local garage for my services done, he is a vag specialist but not a dealer, so not the huge price for a good service. I suggest you do the same. I have had lots of Audi's and tbh when it comes to selling them on, a full history is always good, but I have never rely felt the benefit of a full dealer history against the normal full history

Needs unlocked via vcds to change the nav disc.

Unless you have HDD NAV, you will NOT be able to play DVD movies, only DVD nav discs which need activated via Audi.

Did you buy from a main Audi dealer?

Yes mate I'd get a service done :) ...

I usually do my own servicing but if I'd just bought car from a main dealer I'd get it done @ a main dealer just to make sure that any warranty they have given me they can't wriggle out of ...

Due to EU laws you can get car serviced else where to uphold any warranty as long as genuine parts/manufacturer service procedures are done but I think if you get one from a main dealer you have a bit more leverage when claiming for anything covered ...
