could you please poke a tape measure through the wheel and measure the distance from the face of the disc to the inside of the wheel spoke.

actually i'll open this up for other popular wheels, would be good to get a list going of what 17's should clear 4 pots

thanks

No.

No-one.

The offset of a standard Ronal S3 wheel is ET32.

What calipers are you attempting to fit?

Some large brembo 4 pots, slightly larger than LCR ones, so require maximium clearance but want to stick to 17's

Is that all you know about them?

If so, nobody can help you :(

I know a lot more about them then that, they are from a bmw 730i have 44/40mm pistons and i will be splitting the 2 halfs and facing 3mm off so they can run on 312x25mm discs, i will be fabricating my own mounting brackets, this i dont need help doing, what i need help with is finding a 17" wheel that will clear them as i require at least 70mm between disc face and inside of spoke. may end up running arount a 25mm spacer for clearence.

Well thanks. Now that I have extracted this information from you (quite painfully) I can tell you that the stock offset of a 7 series is 24mm.

So you will need 14mm spacers to fit the calipers if you retain the standard caliper to carrier offset. Which you won't be because you are apparently skimming 3mm off the faces of the calipers.

Which for somebody of your suggested engineering knowledge shouldn't have been too difficult to work out.

That said, and all **** taking aside...

Why are you **** arsing about fitting these calipers? What are you building? And what master cylinder are you using? Why do you think you need 70mm clearance? Have you not thought that these MONSTER calipers will hugely over heat the discs and cause consant pad issues, and constant boiling fluid?

Going to all that effort and keeping 312mm discs is frankly retarded; and I have no issues in telling you that. Why not just fit LCR Brembos or GT Junior calipers?

Genuinely intrigued why you are going to all this effort.

The standard S3 Ronals have loads of room for big brakes! And you can easily increase the room with the use of wheel spacers, 15mm will fit on the front running factory 225/45 rubber, so plenty of clearance.

Maybe I was a bit mean. Sorry.

I just thought his attitude seemed a bit "know it all" on his reply to me asking if he knew any more about the callipers. Which wasn't befitting the nature of the question, which is fairly basic.

Ho hum.

dont beat around the bush! If jaardo had spoon fed me this info I'd be happy!

he should say " thanks pal, great info but do yourself a favour and get some etiquette lessons! Cheers"

jaardo answered his question and fast, thumbs up from me :)?
