Hi all up untill last week, i had the b6 sport cloth interior, but always fancied the b7 sline cloth interior as i like the look and feel of the larger shoulders on them, so last week i picked up a set that was in the ebay ads thread on here, was very happy with them as theyre like new to look at all bolsters are solid, no wear at all, when i picked them up the lady said the wires had been taken off for her new ones which i just assumed would be the plug and play loom that they all seem to have, but ive since found that someone has cut the side airbag wire and plug off, now surely all the b6/b7 seats have these so what would possess someone to cut one off, now i have to swap the side airbags out of my old seats before buying the kufatec looms to complete the system with lumbar support,

Soo in short do seats from certain variants throw up airbag faults more than others and could this explain the hack job??

Noticed a fair few differences in the seat wiring,
1) airbag is removeable on b6 and not on b7
2) b7 has a seatbelt warning plug and b6 doesnt
3) b7 has 3 wires for airbag b6 has 2,

Starting to think ill have to settle for just getting the lumbar working and leaving the rest be,

Seems a strange thing do, cutting the wires of the seats!?!? I'm guessing that the airbag system will need to be wired in somehow though otherwise you will have a permanent airbag warning light which means a deactivated system and an MOT fail nowadays. I'm sure there's a few guys and girls out there that have done the B7 seats fit so there should be some good info somewhere. Try changing you post title to "B7 seats retrofit into B6" and you may just attract the right attention.

idiots for choping the plugs off
no way they needed them for there new seats

Agreed! they left me with one plug which is for lumbar support the one thats been chopped has 3 thin wires inside so im gonna have to get a plug to fit on, or wire it in somehow, once i get the rest of the loom anyhow,

Strangely enough though no airbag light...

no airbag pluged in and no bag light ?
id be woundering why
have you ever seen the bag light on your car ?

Yeah i believe i have seen it previously but no light with these seats in and unplugged, they are unplugged from the floor though not at the seat if that makes a difference,

id say you have a problem somewhere
the light sould be on the min you unplug the seat
does it come on for a second or 2 when you start the car ?

Just been out to check and your right no the airbag light doesn't illuminate im sure it has before though, maybe i knocked something when i fitted the new dash, where exactly is the airbag light located?

You can do a cluster lights check with VCDS, Instruments, Basic Output Tests.
