Stacey's Belated Yo Yo Build Thread

I'm curious if this type of downpipe setup can be mated to a standard S3 exhaust, or would I be wasting my time?

Possibly something to investigate on lupo.. and make its outlet 3.5" into its 3" system when it goes full fat k04 hybrid shortly..

I didn't include the joining pipe between the two rear boxes as thats already been done (plus as I helped make it I also know where the joins 'should' be... although I could have missed a couple... :D)

I am sticking to 14...

<tuffty/>

Ah I thought we were talking about the downpipe welds :)

Yes i want to see this beast on the strip kicking 7 shades of sh!t out of most things there.

I believe Bill has been welding over the past day or so as the weekend was taken up with mapping cars and fixing other stuff...

I know the next things on the list are coolant lines and the wastegate pipe work...

There will no doubt be an proper update from Bill when he has five mins :)

<tuffty/>

Havent got a lot to update (car related) im affraid as usually hear through here and facebook....the race against time is now on though to get it done for inters as prepaid for sprint runs and not sure if can make it there without the car :(

Plus theres no better time to show it off lol...well apart from the used and abused exterior look

On a side note have now moved house and got our own place (well 25% at the mo) but have got my own garage, drive, garden and of coarse am detached so can appreciate my music again and turn the wick on the sub up :)

5minutes? Probably took him 20 to type out the thread at the top of the section about mapping :jester:

I did see somewhere he wrote about an up and coming welding marathon in the last couple of days

Undo the bolt, watch it drain, eat some indian while its draining, do bolt up and fill?

or am I missing something?............I know, the exhaust is in the way? :ninja:

lool.. yea kinda missing something dude.
Oil Drain line Stacey has asked me to do.. and its going to be a right pia as its access to sump from where it is, and the many tubes, tial wastegates, and downpipe obstructing the path are going to make it hell to come up with something.

oil drain I can manage. :) Its the hex thing on the bottom of the sump I think.. It might be the dingle fulrum tho.. Hmmm I best be carefull. :p

bill do you sell those egt bosses??
they're m10 x 1.0 aren't they??
i need one. or tap my manifold, not sure

If you mean for std egt vw/audi probe they need to be a counterbore type special fitment. Not screwed into a plain threaded hole. I have these made for me. M12x1.0 thread but there is a counterbore onto which the probe must sit against which seals it. Not just the thread.

yeh oem egt probe. dont remember it needing a counter bore in the turbo hotside, looked to me as thought the probe just sits flat on its nut. Il have to have a look this weekend. Ive 2 options, manifold or downpipe, but if you do the bosses i may be in touch about one
thanks

edit: confused now:http://forums.audiworld.com/picture.php?albumid=84327&pictureid=200171

double edit: AH i see! against that seat that moves up/down the probe.

I do kinda know what I am describing here Karl ;)
Its not a collar which slides up and down. Its fixed to the probe and must sit against a bottom counterbore to be clamped tight and sealed
£15+postage btw and in stock

Looks lovely bill.....can't wait for it to turn over and know "its alive" :D

there's a few steps between here and there Stacey.
Hoping the build and first startup is problem and leak free.
times going to be incredibly tight to complete for inters as is.
Still working towards it.
getting there slowly..

Yeah do know theres more to it yet but just getting excited :D

I would like to think everything is leak free but its easy to forget to tighten the odd thing or make a mistake so affraid as much as id like to I cant promise you that one

Looks sexual and sits nice and tight to the floor pan :D

Yep by design I might add.

suffering with muchos hay fever today which has'nt helped.
Tial project tomorrow.. and it looks pretty fiddly.. then oil drain, and coolant lines...

Did you have a minimum boost level in mind? Not checked the tials opening pressure as yet.. will do that tomoz.

Looks gorgeous up close stacey! I can't wait to hear yours! I posted a vid of mine on bills FB.
