Worth a shot - revised piston may still be free. If it don't work then just buy a new one which will also come with the new revised piston.

(must refrain from mum joke!)

If anything having a stiffer spring reduces the time and amoumt the dv is open, reducing the amount of air you can dump.
It has no relation to boost because it acts in the same direction to it. spring holds piston closed, as does boost.

I think the spring differences have been covered a fair few times and yet nobody seems to still understand the reasons for changing them! My car feels very on/off and the part throttle motorway cruising is a bit of a pain and requires some practice. I can only put this down to the blue spring on the DV. On the other hand, i'm dubious about changing it as it was mapped with it in and there must have been a reason for it...

Good luck with the freebie....few of my mates who have asked for the re-designed piston have been re-directed to the service kit for about £15...thankfully I managed to get a free one when Reesy posted it up on his thread :yahoo:

Bin it off for an OE Westy, it's always worth having a spare anyway.

If you get on with the OE you can sell the 007p to an unsuspecting scenester on eBay.

Forge has a repair kit for every DV!So you can get one and make your 007 like new!

The service kit is £15 and the spring is £12 and I'm fed up of paying forge money. I only serviced the thing just before it got mapped in November. Thought I'd give the OEM one a go.

Could you post a pic up of the OEM one you get please?....I've heard that there is a slightly different design to it now.

I've got 2 at home and 1 in the car :) lol Shows how much faith I have with Forge now! haha

I have a bit of a collection going on....

I still have a Split-R and run a 007P on the car at the moment- over £200 worth of DV's with just those two!!!

I wonder if Forge will take them both off my hands as an exchange for some new shiny blue silicone boost hoses :D lol

New OEM valve fitted. Smooth as silk! No more jerky part throttle.

I did however have 2 engine codes before I went for a spin which must have cropped up last week on my way back from Silverstone.

First was about an intermittent cam shaft sensor issue which I've had before.

And the second was for an intermittent open circuit on injector 4 which is a bit more of a worry.

Cleared the faults and they haven't come back.... yet!

Gave up with the inside. Did the best I could with wonder wheels. It came out ok on the front:

Hoping to get to fit my spacers at least for a test fit today. Also got the black audi centre bore caps so I can ditch the manky plastic TT wheel centre caps that the paint is flaking off.

maybe one was a replacement down the line somewhere and they changed the design :uhm:

Thought you were waiting until the inters clean?

Thought I should do the wheels to save me time in 2 weeks. Good job too as it took me ages to clean them. As there were off, thought I'd fit spacers and centre caps.

Can you check the system tomorrow mate to see if the TT wheel design was changed at some point?

Got no way of checking. If there's a supersession on the screen then its clear they've changed something along the way but won't ever know what they changed.

I'd have assumed rep too mate! definitely all Ronal stamped? I'm sure mine are all like the 3 of yours. so strange!

Yep, Ronal stamp, Audi stamp, part number stamp, all the same on the rear of the spokes as the other 3 wheels. When te OE centre caps are fitted it covers this bit up but I decided I wanted a change.

Finally got round to removing the smic cross member:

Weighed in at just under 4kgs!

I'm going to weigh my rear seats, spare wheel, and tool kit when I remove them on Thursday ready for Inters ;)
